If I found one problem with Pritchard's draft, it was concerned with value. That's a word you never stop hearing in the NFL draft, but doesn't seem to have the same impact in the NBA and NHL drafts. Basically, it amounts to believing that what everybody else thinks of a guy is just as important as what you think of him. KP might've been very convinced with the players he picked, but I saw a few opportunities for him to get those players along with some additional assets (cash considerations, another later pick, etc.). For a guy who's basically stolen the show in previous drafts, I thought he was unusually complacent in this one.

That said, I can't stress enough how much of a crapshoot draft picks are after the mid-1st round. Every year I come in thinking that my team absolutely needs to jump on this 2nd round prospect, getting pissed off when they pass, and I've been proven wrong so many after the fact.

I couldn't agree with you more BrianFromWA. IMO, KP totally blew it tonight. That's not to say that he can't use some of these picks in future potential trade scenarios, but taken at face value (i.e. we keep them) it was an embarrassment from KP tonight.

I too was left shaking my head with the Pendergraph pick. Why not take a flyer on a guy like Blair? Sure, his knees may be beyond recovery, but that's why you pick him in the 2nd round - non-guaranteed contracts.
