QUOTE (NetsDaily) Al Iannazzone in Thursday’s Record reports that the Nets have had exploratory talks with the Nuggets about both Carmelo Anthony and Marcus Camby, but nothing is imminent. Iannazzone adds that while Denver is “not committed to moving Anthony yet … they are listening to offers”. Iannazzone also reports the Nets have a single $3.3 million trade exception available. Nets must aggressively pursue major trade - Al Iannazzone - The Record Ridicule tops this Nuggets survey - Woody Paige - Denver Post Seeking a Big Deal - Al Iannazzone - In the 'Zzone I wonder if we have anyone they would want. -------------------- Every time you touch yourself, Sean Williams dunks on someone. And Johnny Flynn yacks someone.

I'm pretty sure Jefferson or Carter is good enough. I'm sure they'd want youth but if they were to keep Iverson and not Anthony, it would be a sign of win-now.

This was bound to happen since Kiki probably still has friends in the Denver front office. I'm just surprised that the players they're talking about are Carmelo and Camby. I would rather the discussions involve Kleiza.

It's Thronipedia, damn it. Up here in the great white north, we don't get information fast enough. I only found out last week that we just hired Rod Thorn! Do you think the Nuggets have a lot of hope in Kleiza that they'd do this for others? Pretty weird but possible. -------------------- Barney: There are only two reasons to date a girl you've already dated: breast implants.

From the "In the 'Zzone" article:
QUOTE The Nets have plenty and from what I’ve been told they can use everything. 1. They have three draft picks in the top 40, two first-rounders and one in the Lottery. 2. Keith Van Horn’s contract, worth about $3.8 million. The Nets are trying to move this. 3. A $3.3 million trade exception from the Jason Kidd trade. It originally was two exceptions for $1.68 million and $770,000, but the league changed it. It’s now one for more money. 4. Young players with value: Marcus Williams, Sean Williams, Josh Boone 5. Nenad Krstic, who could be used in a sign-and-trade. 6. Expiring contracts: Stromile Swift, Maurice Ager. 7. Midlevel Exception 8. Lower level Exception I'd rather include Krstic then Sean. While of course considering that this could be a mistake if Sean doesn't quite pan out, I'm confident that he will and would rather not trade him for an aging Camby. I know he can still play, but for how long? -------------------- ![]() QUOTE (Bill Simmons) If LeBron isn't wearing a Nets jersey within the next four years, I will walk from California to New Jersey naked wearing only a 2006-07 game-worn Adam Morrison Bobcats jersey. 1. Celtic King 2. M Two One 3. Pegs 4. BasX 5. Master Shake |

i sort of wonder if Denver wants us to take back Camby, like he has negative trade value. He doesn't seem to be considered a good man defender anymore, and he steals boards from his teammates, along with being old and fairly expensive. Either way, I hope he doesn't make us lose out on Melo for some reason.

Either way, I hope he doesn't make us lose out on Melo for some reason. His contract would be done before Vince's or RJ's. And Hassel's ends in the same year. At the least, he can teach Sean how to rebound better...and be a better weakside defender (that is, if we keep Sean). -------------------- Every time you touch yourself, Sean Williams dunks on someone. i would rather take Nene than Camby... thats just me. Is it the age difference? If so, I could understand where you're coming from. Although, IMO, we have enough young bigs on the team. We could use a veteran big, if we're looking to become contenders with this trade. -------------------- Every time you touch yourself, Sean Williams dunks on someone. And Johnny Flynn yacks someone.

But camby's defense is better than Nene. That doesnt mean Nene's D is horrible either. -------------------- C'est la vie

One thing Nets fans will find out is that Kiki loves the media, loves to leak things to the media and loves to manipulate through the media. Camby especially is a player that doesn't respond well when his name is in trade rumors.
This smells like Kiki planting a story in the media to screw with the Nuggets |

Melo and Harris plus our first round pick this year (if we keep it) and the one in 2010 from the mavs assuming they are horrible and their pick becomes a lottery could be the cornerstones of our team. He might have planted it, but why do so unless you were interested in the idea of bringing in Carmelo? (Assuming 'Zzone's source is accurate). Kiki is all about image. He wants to make it appear that he is doing good stuff. Plus he can screw with the Nuggets by putting and keeping Camby's and Melo's names in trade rumors. Remember, we are talking about a reporter once called Lazy Al. He may very well become Kiki's favorite reporter by making stories out of whatever Kiki tells him. |

More like expiring contracts and cash if you will. But i can see us giving the nugs some young players for melo(24) camby (34)/Nene (25) and maybe even throw in kleiza(23)? -------------------- C'est la vie
