QUOTE

Hollinger: With Assets Galore, Nets Must Think Big
May 16, 2008, 6:05 am John Hollinger commends the Nets for thinking big. Carmelo Anthony is just the type of player they need. He contends, however, that Anthony is unlikely to be dealt. Instead, he says, they should go for players just below Anthony’s level, players like Josh Smith, Andrew Bynum, even Rashard Lewis. He adds, with picks, young players and expiring contracts, the Nets finally have the assets they need. Peter Vecsey also disses a ‘Melo deal: “Why would Denver give up on him so early in his career?”

Like the Knicks, Nets Plan for a Busy Summer - John Hollinger - New York Sun
Appealing to a hire authority - Peter Vecsey - New York Post
Anthony-to-Nets not seen as likely option - Aaron J. Lopez, - Rocky Mountain News

QUOTE (Bill Simmons)
If LeBron isn't wearing a Nets jersey within the next four years, I will walk from California to New Jersey naked wearing only a 2006-07 game-worn Adam Morrison Bobcats jersey.

So? There's a thing called "trading", you know...but his contract really is huge.

Jordan watched video of the play and his opinion hadn't changed.

"I stand my ground. I thought he got tangled up with LeBron, and LeBron tried to get untangled. And in his method of trying to get untangled, Darius' arm just flew at his chin," Jordan said Thursday. "And LeBron's a terrific actor. We've seen some of his commercials."

Getting Josh would be amazing for NJ, he's got some growing up to do but his talent is through the roof. Not quite sure how that's going to happen though.

exactly. he is a RFA. Atlanta will match any offer. Plus:

The Lakers won't give up Andrew Bynum either.

They wouldn't give him up for Kidd, they're not giving him up for Carter or RJ and the two picks.

Hollinger may be a good analyst, and he's a frustratingly accurate NJ Nets critic/prognosticator, but as a writer he leaves a lot to be desired. That article is a mess. He just throws a bunch of unrealistic scenarios out there, and then shoots them down himself, proving what? How smart he is?

He's like a player who likes to fire away from three but rarely hits and makes too many turnovers. I calculate his Journalistic Efficiency Rating to be 8.63.
