So you would trade Mo Williams for Andre Miller, at this point in the season, knowing how well this team is gelling with each other? Some things don't show up in the box score or hell, even on the court. They're playing well. Small moves, sure. Major moves that disrupt what the team is doing so well and changing the entire offense of the team when we're 16-3? Not so much.

I wouldn't trade him right now, but if the Blazers hit a rough patch and get off their hot streak it's something Olshey shouldn't take off the table if his goal is to improve the team.

This is like trading Aldridge for crap and draft picks.

Trading one veteran backup point-guard with an 11 PER for another backup point-guard with a 15 PER ... Right, totally the same thing.

rosterbating is silly at this juncture, and its just bad form to sign guys like mo or wright and then trade them, they are both great guys to have off the bench right now

100% hear hear!

I still don't get this "trade now" and get over the top shit?!?! About 99.9% of this forum would bet anyone $1,000 that we have no chance making it to the finals before pre-season. Now that we are truly winning, some peeps want to pull a "sign Strickland" mid season to destroy our chemistry.

I saw that play from Wes as well. Sometimes I think Dame gets tunnel vision, .

I know what play you guys are referring to with Wes and to be fair to Dame, he wanted to feed the man that was hot at the time. And that was LMA. And LMA did make the shot on that particular possession.

But yeah I was screaming for him to pass it to Wes as well.

Do you remember when we signed Shremp and Strickland mid season? We were on a good record, being 2nd in the league. We didn't give anyone up either, yet imploded after the signing.

Dre miller would want to finish off games in the clutch (he certainly has the experience to do so) and control the tempo in the clutch. So who do we bench, Lillard, Matthews or Batum?

This is so fucking disingenuous. NOBODY is saying anything of the sort. Some of us are just pointing out that there might be some soft spots in this roster and that if the Blazers slow their roll, it might be wise to address these issues at the deadline. If the Blazers are still playing .800+ ball in February there's no chance Olshey disrupts the team.

He's not that player anymore and hasn't played that role since he went back to Denver.

What am I saying mags? Do you really think I'm advocating Trader Bob syndrome here? Chrissakes.

I don't think there is "soft spots" that can't be filled with the current players we have already. T. Rob can grow, CJ hasn't even fucking played, Wright isn't even close to shooting like he normally does and Lillard is shooting a dismal FG%.

We wouldn't have to make 1 fucking trade and our team can and should be better in another 20 games.

No you tried advocating that a 15 PER player is fine if we use a 11 PER player to get him. We traded "0" PER for those players, that had career better PERs than 15. So what are you trying to say then?

Then what's the point. He has 1 maybe 2 years left in the league. If we can get him for pennies on the dollar, sure. If not, big deal.

It's absolutely impossible to have a reasonable conversation with you mags. You know this right?

Happy with Wright. As others have said, the other team isn't leaving him. He plays smart, hard, and unselfishly. He's not playing as well as he will be by the end of the season. Between him and Dame having room to improve their game's this season and we're still 16-3 I'm very excited about the future of this season and beyond.

these guys are good bench guys, dont you remember the fetus fire last year?

if anything id swap trob for a vet banger chuck hayes type

I see Mo the same way and I'm not even saying it absolutely should be Miller (that was Nate's idea) he was just an example. But a more traditional point-guard in that backup role (because Lillard himself is more on the "shoot first" end of the spectrum) might help get the offense into its sets when the starters are resting or for those time when Dame is playing off the ball.

Reasonable? You think making a deal "mid-season" while our team is 16-3 reasonable? I assume you just think stats on a piece of paper is all you need to determine what will build a dominant team? Ask New York and Brooklyn how that fared for them? Ask Lakers of last season how that worked for them. When you got a damn good thing going, why tinker with the line-up? Especially knowing that we have players that can and should get better.

For fuck's sake read what I actually wrote.

its like a bird in the hand, bushes are where perverts hide, and you can get ticks too

Mo is 30 years old. We can try Earl Watson as our PG as he has a decent Bball IQ. I mean the only way you're going to get a veteran PG is to trade a guy like CJ, Leonard and draft picks right now. We'd have to move Mo to backup 2 guard then. Neil isn't trading him, they're boys and the guys on the team like him.

Was this not what you wrote?

That was when I responded to you. Then you said I am unreasonable.

Don't get all pissy because I called you out on the 11 PER vs. 15 PER argument.

yeah neil wouldnt trade mo i dont think, not without feeling really bad about it

I'm a little disappointed he isn't making more 3s. Ptd is a 3 pt shooting tam and the scouting report is probably to take the 3 pt shot away from the 3 its shooters, Wright being one. So maybe he isn't getting as many looks as years past.

I don't think the expectations should be too high on Wright. Not that you have said so Nate, but there was talk about trading Batum because Wright can fill in at his spot. While Wright was sought after this summer by several teams, he did sign for 3M yr for 2 yrs. No team willing to offer him the full MLE or even close.

I hope Wright starts hitting 3s like early in the season (he looked automatic from 3), but I'm glad he brings other things to the game. His hustle is what has been the pleasant surprise for me . . . hope that isn't just a product of this hot start.

Where was this talk of trading Batum because Wright can fill the spot? I never heard that.

You're jumping in the middle of what I said and ignoring what preceded it.

imo, mo fits the 2nd unit better than miller would, but both would be even better

If you are going to call me out for being "unreasonable" because I called you out on the 11 PER vs 15 PER trade, then defend that comment. Justifying it later because you amend some of it on another post is silly.

What are you even talking about? I said you're unreasonable because you keep skipping over the part where I said there's no way Olshey tampers with the team's chemstry while they are rolling.

For fucks sake... where did anyone say we should trade Mo Williams for Andre Miller? Anyone?

I swear, it's like some of you WANT to get worked up. If you look in other threads, I specifically say I don't think we should make a trade right now. It's like you don't even read the posts, you just make quick judgement calls and start spewing out words as you froth at the mouth over a perceived slight to the team.

Yes, I would love to have Andre Miller on this team. Any benefit you get from having Mo as a scorer would be nullified because Miller would instantly make the other players on the second unit better. Miller is currently coming off the bench for Denver, so I don't see how he would become some kind of malcontent.

I'm not saying we should make a trade right now, but if the opportunity presented intself down the road to add Miller, I think we should take a look at it. I think he would be a great addition to our bench unit.

With that said, calm the fuck down.
