I wanted LMA on draft night as a keeper and years later at the right price I'd still welcome him in a supporting role.

Re: Chicago Bulls top focus still remains Carmelo Anthony

Anthony has the 5th highest USG% in NBA history. He's also 11th leading scorer in NBA history. Of the 10 ahead of him, 4 played in an era where USG% can't be computed because they didn't keep detailed enough stats. Wilt being one of them.

So pretty much it's you draw up plays that end with him and he puts up lots of points.

I think 11th in history is damned impressive. Something like 25.3 PPG.

Melo is a no brainer if he is willing. If. Big if. No blame to be assigned. The if is in his court

It is and he should be our top priority. He can play SF and we can go small with him at pf.

We have a former MVP that should still be a good guard. He struggled through 10 games to get the rust off, yet he still averaged 15 pts a game! And we have a MVP nominated center! That is a good threesome.

Just curious if you guys have heard other reports that the Bulls aren't too interested in the Love sweepstakes? It was reported that Love particularly likes Chicago and GS. Since then there's been a ton of rumblings about GS' interest in Love. Everything I hear out of Chicago remains Melo-centric and it seems like they've damn near made up their mind on sticking with Gibson? Would Chicago enter a bidding war for Love?

That is all I am hearing. Speculation is the Bulls will or might make an offer to Minny for Love, but it would cost us more assets. There are so many more ways we can try and Get Melo and less assets. Plus he covers a need at SF and even back up PF.

Noah wants to keep Gibson and I dont blame him. The guy was a beast all season long and into the playoffs. However, that was Noah. If the FO were to turn down a deal because of not wanting to part with Gibson to get Melo, them there will mutiny so to speak with the fan base.

What I would like to see is an incomplete, but more balanced roster next season. What I mean by incomplete is similar to the Heat. They got all three superstars then went from there every season since then.

Even if we were able to get Melo, we will still need more scoring!

I read lots of interest in Love by the Bulls. The rumor mills debate which would be better for the Bulls. Both are great scorers. Love is only 25. What I particularly read is the Bulls need his assurance he'll sign and not become a FA in 2015.

Rumor: Chicago Bulls two 2014 NBA Draft Prospects they like are Julius Randle and Noah Vonleh. Chicago Bulls spoke with Sacramento Kings (#8), Charlotte Bobcats (#9), Orlando Magic (#12) about moving up in Draft.

NBADraft.net has Randle going at #6 to Boston and Vonleh to Utah at #5. Trading up to 8,9, or 12 is like the Chicago Bears offense - if you need 8 yards for a first down, send the receiver on a 7 yard down and across pattern.

    Re: Official Bulls Rumors thread

    I read some where that if they got #8 or 9 they would then package #19 along with it to try and move up to 5 or 6. The idea would be #16 and a player, for 8, 9, etc;

    I don't see this happening.

The teams at 5 & 6 tanked hard... I mean worked hard... to get those picks. No way in hell I'd take Jimmy and #19 for a top pick like that. Who else would the Bulls offer?

    Re: Official Bulls Rumors thread

Handwringing is fun but the draft sites have been strikingly wrong for the most part over the last couple of years, and they seem to be getting worse as teams are more careful with the information they release. I wouldn't be shocked if Vonleh was available at 8, 9 or 12. I expect Randle to be available there. I don't really see how Randle fits in on the Bulls though. He's not a Thibs type player.

Who moves up? There shouldn't be a Darko/Tyrus kind of pick, let alone 4.

I agree Denny, who else do we have that we can offer? Some Bulls fans say Gibson, but no, I dont see it.

    Re: Official Bulls Rumors thread

I can name ten, maybe fifteen players I like better than Randle who may be available at 8 . But that's beside the point. Nerlens Noel was the consensus first pick on all the draft sites last year right up until the moment he slipped to the sixth pick.

Noel was injured while playing for Kentucky and had knee surgery. I think that might be a reason he slipped.

Bulls still like their chances on Melo---Better than 50/50. They are hoping Melo decides around draft so deals can be lined up to cut $$$

Regarding a potential Carmelo S/T, there's talk the Knicks would like to get under the luxury tax should Carmelo chooses to leave.

SST, do you have Embiid, Wiggins and Parker as the top 3? If Vonleh and Randle are going to be around at #8, who are your 4-7? Inquiring minds want to know.

    Re: Official Bulls Rumors thread

If Embiid, Parker, and Randle are consensus top 3 then I think you could make the following arguments:

1). Dante Exum - I've never seen him play but groupthink around the draft scene all seems to have him right after the top 3, and I've even seen some people lump him in with Wiggins and Parker.

2). Marcus Smart - He probably doesn't have superstar potential, but 4-10 seems to be his range. He's probably considered a safer pick than the other guys.

3). Aaron Gordon - Not sure how much I like him, but I think he's an "Eye of the Beholder" type of player. He's got serious holes, but his value seems to lie in how you think he'll be used at the next level. Is he Shawn Marion or Bo Outlaw? Big difference.

4). Jusuf Nurkic - There's a wide variance on his draft position, but I've seen him being taken in the middle of the lottery and he's a very unique player.

5). Dario Saric - See above. 6-10 seems like a reasonable draft slot.

6). James Young, Zach Lavine, Clint Capela - None are expected to go higher than Randle and Vonleh, but these are three players that are perceived as having high ceilings and might have certains teams that value them higher than their median draft positions, which is usually late lottery/mid 1st round.
