My point in bringing Harden into this is that 20 FTA's is RARE. Harden LIVES at the line with phantom foul after phantom foul, and could only muster 20 once, even with 10 fta's per game average. And until Wiggins plays an NBA game (Summer league is less than D-league), then the comparisons can't happen, IMO.
Lmao! Wasn't Webster the summer league MVP once?! That should tell you how telling it is for someone to try and use it for a measuring stick
No all that told us was he is a fine player. But if you tried using summer league stats by Lillard to compare him to, let's see, Conley Jr, you would have gotten laughed at. Get the point?!
Wiggins and Monroe vs Alridge, I am fairly certain that if Portland were to move LA for Wiggins and pieces they could get enough back to entice the Pistons to sign and trade Monroe. Does locking up Wiggins 8 years and Monroe 4-5 yrs make more sense than gambling on LA willingly resigning next summer? It seems like it to me.
Gambling? More like playing poker. If you are going to use words like "gambling" then you need something to back up the cheesy claim. Let's not talk about "what if Aldridge doesn't re-sign" and just talk about the intangibles like talent for talent or potential. Personally, if you could turn Aldridge and Matthews into Wiggins, Thompson and Monroe, then you would have to really consider. You would definitely take a step back, but the potential is much great than the sum of the two parts you just sent out.
I don't think that step back would necessarily be "definite" at all. And I don't think I'd want Thompson back in that scenario anyway.
Agreed - I don't see that being a step back at any point during the next 8 years. That team would be at least as good as last year's team. Oh what (maybe) could have been...
Thompson would not be needed here with Monroe in tow. Kaman Lopez Monroe and TRob is more than sufficient. Furthermore, I am not sure Matthews would have to be included either Thompson, Waiters and a pick should be more than enough incentive to do a sign and trade.
A trade that would send Kevin Love to the Cleveland Cavaliers is “done,” WMTW Channel 8 Portland sports anchor Travis Lee tweeted Tuesday, citing a “trusted source in the industry.” If true, this wouldn’t be completely shocking news, since Love has been connected in trade rumors with the Cavs for weeks, but it would still be a major development.
