Considering no one knows how Conley would have worked on this team, your presumptive attitude is an effort in futility. So why don't you just attempt to contribute to the topic at hand or kindly stay out of my thread.
Well, that would include you. You didn't know how Conley would work but you wanted to trade arguably our best player for him. So, until you accept that. Back on topic. No to Wiggins for Aldridge. Because we don't know how he would work on this team. See how that works? Thank you. I'll stay. Get me an apple juice please.
Funny, we also do not know if LA will stay or Lopez or Matthews for that matter. We also don't know if any of them will get hurt etc. Since this team is not going to be winning an NBA title as currently constructed, why not make a deal?
You just assumed we are not going to win a title.... but we don't know ANYTHING else? That's some downright depressing logic. I guess we shouldn't play the season. "Alright boys. Pack it up! This Cmeese guy says we ain't going to win a title! No need to play, tip your waitstaff."
Well since we determine the risk over reward, we can take account that Aldridge is a legit all star that has shown history of staying healthy, helping the team win games and even rebound at a highly efficient rate. Add that he just publicly announced he wants to finish his career as a Blazer, and we can say he will "most likely stay"
Whose back pedaling you said with no chance at the title they might as well not even play. I simply showed they actual have millions of reasons to play.
Yes we are just coming off our first playoff series win, and the Blazers just made him a max contract offer what did you expect him to say.
If he leaves what are you going to say then? If he resigns, I hereby offer to never badmouth LA again, I suggest that if LA leaves that you have to change your signature to cmeese47 is a genius and I worship his opinion.
Well shit man... What if anyone leaves? I mean you are basing shit on factors that can guarantee you won't be right or wrong. You know, straddling the fence???? What I would recommend is basing shit on something that is substantial. You ain't notradamus and as it stands, he's a Blazer...
I am also basing my opinion on the idea that risking losing a player of LA's caliber for nothing would be devastating to the team. Additionally, I believe that if we could acquire Wiggins, Monroe and two picks in exchange for Matthews, and Aldridge. That the team has better long term viability than the current core does.
Okay well throw out the argument that Aldridge might leave because it's truly a reach. Now base this idea on the value of Monroe and wiggins being younger and possibly brighter future and move on shall we? That has much better "weight" than trying to convince the forum Aldridge will leave, after he told the media he wants to stay a blazer for life.
I'll join in on that. I'll put it on my sig if he leaves at the end of the year. But, lets be realistic, it has to be because of his own doing, not because of some outside forces (Injury, etc.) If he leaves because the team sucks, or what have you, then yes. But, the biggest thing here is, we have the extra year and extra money, and the only two reasons I see him leaving is if some randomness happens. I just don't see a reason he doesn't isgn here when we also have a big offseason next year with a boatload of money. For the record, I'll still put it on my sig if he walks because of Olshey's doing. That meaning that it could happen that LA signs after all the FA sign to see how the team looks. If Olshey doesn't do that. Just trying to be fair. So, if he doesn't re-sign, cmeese, what will you do? Disregard my last message. We got to think of something, you just cant walk away from it for nothing.
I will never create another trade thread and publicly admit that I was wrong about LA and should have never doubted either of you.
