So you're saying the movie this SHOULD remind me of is neglected classic (that I saw in a preview screening in LA) Body Parts?
This thread makes me wonder about of Roy & Oden would have remained healthy and along with LA, Batum and Matthews what might have been.
I wonder if LaMarcus would've been an all-star? The moment Roy left and Aldridge was allowed to be the focal point his game and role with the team went to another level. The trio with LMA inside and Batum/Wes bombing three's has been exceptional. It really started the next few days and weeks after Roy was hurt for good. Roy had a stretch for a year and a half where he was a top7 player in this league. When the court was spread with a stretch 4 and he could drive inside it felt like the team was unstoppable at the end of games. It seems like so long ago; but Roy is only now beginning the final season of his Blazers contract.
That seriously is a stretch.. Shaq is funny as hell. Oden and Shaq should never be mentioned in the same sentence.
They can totally be mentioned in the same sentence! Are you crazy? For example: Oden is never going to be Shaq, ever. See?
I guess I'm old enough to remember GO before his first injury.
It's easier to hate a guy if you imagine he's a terrible, evil human being rather than just possessed of a body that broke down.
Who's Oden?! I seem to recall folklore of this great beast that had a great tri-pod to smite his foes. According to the legend, he like Achilles, had a weak spot on his body. Oden's weakness was in his knees, which exploded after a battle with lowly peasants. He began to sulk and drink large amounts of wine, then used his reputation to rip off local cities for their money. Today, when children are acting like a baby, they refer to them as "Don't be an Oden!"
Oden had a great personality, he played the piano at the ESPYs. If he was able to be an nba starter we would judge his personality totally differently
Paul George's injury is the reason why I wouldn't want Oden back. Too much of a chance of going through all of that again.
