Flashbacks of watching ESPN Sunday night baseball during the years of my youth. Jon Miller and Joe Morgan ran that shit.
Jon Miller is awesome. I'm not even a Giants fan and I would throw on my Extra Innings and listen to the radio side of a game just for him. Do the same for Vin Scully.
Shit is confusing. NBC is CSNW? Finkle is Einhorn? Einhorn is Finkle??? NBA does suck for blacking out local games. That is just straight bullshit, but most likely will never change as they want people to get their asses to the arena, or buy the TV package from which ever company is selling it in their area (comcast for us..) I wish DirecTV had Pac-12 and blazer games.... I miss my Beavs n' Blazers, but it's a small sacrifice to pay for the satisfaction of not paying comcast ---- (aside from my internet, which I have no choice.... which will hopefully change in the future)
Im sure the rest of your post had some great points and info but after this part I was laughing too hard to even pay attention. Well done and repped
That makes it about clear as mud. Corporate shell game. I'm guessing here (since I'm too lazy to research), but this: CSNNW --> NBC Universal --> Comcast?
CSNNW = The TV network that brings you Blazers, Ducks, Beavers programming, etc. Available on Comcast Cable and other cable providers such as Fios. NBC Sports = The corporate group that CSNNW lives and operates under along with all the other CSN Regionals, Golf Channel, NBC Sports Network, etc. Comcast = Your cable/internet company. NBC Universal = The parent company of everything. It would be more accurate to call us NBC Sports Northwest.
NBC Universal is a conglomerate of a number of cable and TV networks. They include NBC, CNBC, MSNBC, Bravo, E!, USA, Syfy, and I presume the various CSN outlets. Some of the Bulls games are on CSN in Chicago. Kevin says he's been working at CSN since 2007, which would be in the days it all was owned by GE.
This might not be a bad idea. We could then take the transcript of AMA and post it on CSNNW.com as a blog for all our readers to see with some links back to other forums topics they might be interested in.
The forum topics are available via RSS: http://sportstwo.com/external.php?type=RSS2&forumids=123 This means you could create a box on your WWW site with links to our recent topics, and the links will change automatically via the RSS feed. Your webmaster would understand how to set this up.
When Kevin says, "start a forum feature," I think he means, "start a feature involving RC2," not "poach RC2 posters to fill a different forum."
man this is what I get for actually working yesterday. Is it too late to add my "F You Comcast, I cant watch games because you guys are Dicks" cause if not??? I have about 6 or 7 years of anger towards you
It's never too late but it won't actually do any good. I don't work for "Comcast" and don't have anything to do with TV deals but that's already been re-hashed a few times in the thread already.
