Taj with 4 rebounds. Start him. Pau may be our best player. That's scary. Mirotic with his best game that I've seen. McBuckets was on pace for 36 points and Thibs had him ride the pine the rest of the way. Aaron Brooks. Derrick who?
Taj had an anemic night on the boards, but I don't think this one night subtracts from his greater body of work. (I also don't think he needs to start). I don't think Pau stands out as our best player, though I think he's clearly better than Boozer based on what I've seen. Agree that Mirotic played a nice game. I think he's a keeper. Not sure why McDermott only played 12 minutes despite his voluminous output. Maybe to save him for later games this week? (Maybe that's why Pau got so much tonight, knowing that we'd need him a lot for this game but could alleviate his minutes when Derrick and Jo come back?) I'm not sure if you meant that as tongue in cheek, but I think you'd have to be blind to think that Aaron Brooks is the same caliber player as Derrick Rose.
Yeah, I'm not sure what happened with Doug McDermott's minutes. He seemed to have Aaron Gordon's number and then he was relegated to the bench. Maybe it had something to do with Thibs not wanting to play the rookies together. Thibodeau is starting to worry me. He seemed unhinged the entire game. I'm not talking about his decisions, but is demeanor. Something is going on with him. Edlrid Payton is fun to watch. He reminds me of Ricky Rubio in some respects.
The start Taj and Aaron Brooks lines were tongue in cheek. Brooks did have 8 assists. Taj is averaging 5 rebounds per 36. I do figure you want your PF/C types to get rebounds. 5 rebounds is what you get from a good rebounding guard.
