My favorite is the 2019 WCF game 4 performance of Meyers scoring 5 of 6 swish3s and 10 of 12 FG to lead the Blazers to the half-time lead. If the Blazers had committed to Meyers shooting another 6 swish3 attempts and a few dunks in the 2nd half, that game could have been a win.
Walton's outlets passes were so incredibly quick after getting a rebound. Not sure I've seen anything like that.
It's probably too long ago for video, but I've heard legend of the Blazers winning a game they were down 8 in the final minute (to the Bulls?) before the 3-pt shot existed. Anyone?
I can’t find it anywhere but I refer to Game 3 of the 1977 WCF against the Lakers. The Blazers had gone on the road and beat LA in games 1 & 2 and returned home - thousands waiting at the airport (I was one!) and game three starts off with the Blazers outscoring the Lakers 13-2. The run includes Walton getting the ball at the foul line, fakes left on Jabbar and turns around and hits the jumper. Next trip down, Walton fakes right and turns again on Jabbar and hits the jumper. Third time down, he fakes left, fakes right, and dribbles right down the middle, slamming it on Jabbar. time out Lakers....Jabbar takes off his goggles and throws them at the bench in disgust! 13-2 was the score and the Cinderella Blazers and Blazermania was no longer a secret!
Can't find the sequence you are talking about, but here's Lionel Hollin's game winning shot from that game:
I definitely remember that. I listened to that game on the radio, but the specifics are hazy now. I think maybe it was 6 points in 9 seconds or some crazy thing? I'm sure Hap knows!
