i would be shocked if he did it. and i think sean marks calls his bluff.

all that said, when was the last time KD just hooped? tangential drama always seems to find him. partly his problem for hitching his wagon to Kyrie and James.

Cronin has stated that they are willing to take some risks. Shaedon Sharpe is example #1. If you can get Simmons for pennies, you do it.

he had back problems. if he's available for cheap, i like chauncey's ability to maximize his skills next to our explosive backcourt. the defense and passing are just so tantalizing.

Man... takes like this have got to stop -- this reminds me so much of the Sharpe stuff. People need to get it in their heads that Portland is never going to do anything notable as a franchise without taking risks. The Nets traded for Simmons on the understanding that he would be out for the year, the talk of him coming back early was, if anything, a cherry on top of things.

YES very clearly, he has stuff to get figured out. Maybe the risk of taking him on ultimately backfires, but the suggestion was getting him on the super cheap. It was also on the supposition that we don't land Durant. In that scenario, if we were to get Simmons for scraps he would ABSOLUTELY BE WORTH THE GAMBLE because he's practically the perfect fit next to Grant. Much like with Sharpe, this idea is betting on Dame, Chauncey and our culture to help Simmons get his shit figured out. Maybe it happens, maybe it doesn't, but for pennies on the dollar, if you hit on that one -- you've got a potential dynastic run ahead of you...

All that said, this will never happen because we need to trade Bledsoe in the next 2 weeks...

Westbrook was actually pretty decent in Washington.

Westbrook’s MVP season is underrated. He didn’t just average a triple double. He led the league in scoring too. Also he was a very big reason they went to Finals in 2012 and nearly did in 2016. He sucks now but don’t rewrite history. He was an excellent player in his prime.

Simmons is still incredibly young and talented. We would be lucky to have him.

Nets prepared to lose Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant

According to ESPN's Brian Windhorst appearing on ESPN Monday afternoon, the Brooklyn Nets seem prepared to blow it all up. With rumors running rampant of Kyrie Irving's potential exit, Kevin Durant could soon be joining leaving Brooklyn.

"The Nets are putting out there right now that they are prepared to lose both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant," Windhorst said.

So would you guys give up Sharpe’s potential for a 34 year old Durant? And is there a way for Joe to get KD without giving up Sharpe?

I like Sharpe, or at least the idea of Sharpe, but its Kevin Durant. I dont think we'll have to worry about it though, dont see Portland being a player for him should he request a trade tbh.

I most definitely would and I don't think there's a way to get KD without both Ant and Shaedon, along with three future unprotected firsts and three first round swaps. I honestly think the offer that gets it done if KD demands a trade is EBEC, S&T Ant with a starting salary of 18-21M, Nas, Keon, Shaedon's rights and all of those draft considerations. I know that leaves the cupboards extremely bare after Dame and KD decline but if we get an extension done with both Hart and Grant this offseason along with singing Nurk then we'll have a starting lineup of Dame, Hart, KD, Grant and Nurk, we would still have Justise off the bench, we would have the TPMLE and we would have roster spots for vet min ring chasers.

Brooklyn will run it back. No team who would want Kyrie can give up what Brooklyn would want without gutting their near contending team. Few potential contenders out there with a bunch of young potential prospects.
I think we are one of them.
Kyrie will not find a suiter though and he will sign the extension, breaking the hearts of many teams’ fans when they realize KD isn't getting traded.

if they can put up a theoretical package of Bridges and somehow manage to S&T Ayton, that would be better than anything we can come up with.

If your saying we will keep building around Dame then yes! You have to. If you say no then I question if you really want a championship in Portland or just a fun team to watch? Now if we’re building around Simons and Little then no I would not trade Sharp.

Yeah, Ayton S/T is probably the best option, assuming Brooklyn is below the apron.
