    20 years old.

“It would be a great fit with Dame,” he said. “I feel like he would be a great mentor.”

“I think one thing that separates me from any player, I would say just being versatile,” Miller said. “I really take pride in the defensive side of the ball. I feel like there’s more to the game than just offense. I feel like, your shot’s not falling, what can you do to help a team win a game? I feel like I can help with my defense.”

Brandon Miller is a guy I can see making most of us here happy... he fills a need in the near term, doesn't crowd Dame, and is a great potential fit with Sharpe in the long run.

He doesn't have the upside that Scoot has, but if Miller is there then it means Henderson is already taken so the Blazers picking Miller would be fantastic.

I say we invent a time machine and go back and sabotage the Spurs pingpong balls.

So... the whole gun thing was overblown?

People who've watched him a lot - what NBA player(s) is he most like?

My gut is telling me Anthony Black is going to be the wheat who emerges from the chaff of the post-Wemby picks in a few years. And this is the gut that wanted to pick Jalen Brunson when we took Anfernee.

Why on Earth would Charlotte draft Scoot though?

    It's Charlotte....

All jokes aside, I think it depends on if they think Ball can be a SG instead.

Because LaMelo is like 6'7", often hurt, the team needs excitement, and most rate him above Miller.

I'd question why they wouldn't draft scoot? It's not like Miller solves some PG logjam so they can contend next year.

    different reasons

they want to go BPA and they believe Scoot has more upside than Miller
they feel like he would complement LaMelo
they fear LaMelo is injury prone

    just hypothesis...

BPA. They could also look to trade the pick for a slightly lower pick and assets. Depends on how much another team wants Scoot. I bet Houston will be very willing.

Because he fits the need and timeline.

just pray Dame wants to stay.
Either way, in four years an Ant/Shae/Miller has serious foundational potential…in my opinion.
If we dont trade the pick this is the guy id like to see us figure out how to draft.

    Let's bookmark this. I don't believe it.

So then would the Blazers draft Scoot if they were going to keep their pick and Miller and Scoot were hypothetically available?

    Scoot has an opinion...

LaMelo is the excitement, is in fact known for his exciting style of play. LaMelo's health is an issue, but they also have Rozier. I just don't see it.

There is more than contending and not contending. What an annoying way to frame things.

We are so into short guys, I wouldn't even be surprised. I think the fans might freak though. I'd probably break something.

Probably not if they keep both Dame and Ant. If one of them is gone, Blazers could certainly pick Scoot.

If Scoot really is that special, the Hornets would be pulling a Blazers when we passed on Jordan…. Or a Blazers when we passed on Paul.

Well the contending comment means the team is likely to have major turnover and other roster moves. Even if positions have some overlap now, they're many years from that being a primary issue.

We've seen how disastrous it is to draft for fit above BPA with top lottery picks. Now if your talking equal level prospects or middle to late of the draft yes fit starts to come into play.

I don't see why people would discount the idea Charlotte drafts the BPA at #2. Infact, that's why I flipped it and asked why they wouldn't.
