Butler = also the guy they're trying to build around to get a ring before he ages out.

Dame's looking at the worst of all worlds in that respect. It's not going to be "his" team, but he's going to be the one held accountable for any struggles the Heat have when he gets there.

If you're Butler, you've got to love it. Your get-out-of-jail-free card is intentionally trying to fly out of the deck into your hand. The Heat getting close right now has been enough to make Butler beloved, but if they don't win next year, the focus will all fall on Dame not putting them over the top.

And I'm not sure, seeing what I have on his social media, that Dame's quite ready for that level of criticism.

The whole way this tweet was couched is comical.

Again, it is not on the Blazers to trade Dame. It is on other teams who want him to make a proper offer.

This is like me hearing a random person telling me their friend saying I'm unfriendly because I didn't say hi to them.

"Did your friend mention they never say hi to me? Why do I have to be the one to take the initiative if they're to whom it's important? Seems more a case that you should be questioning your friend why they aren't more outgoing since they think people need to be outgoing."

If you turn it around you'd see it's wearing the letter 'O.'

I don’t think Miami 5 to 10 times more media coverage than Portland.

The Miami metropolitan area is roughly three times that of Portland. There are three or four competing daily newspapers that cover the Heat. ESPN at least at one point in the not-too-distant past had someone assigned specifically to the Heat. More than a quarter of their games were nationally televised during the regular season.

The Heat obviously get significantly more media coverage than Portland if both teams are playing at the same level and they'll get even a greater slice of that pie if Lillard is playing for them next year.

If you're focused on the exact number of that disparity more than the point of the post, I can't help you. All I can say is just be careful walking outside without assistance. If you're trying to undermine the post by arguing minutiae that pretty obviously was exaggeration for emphasis, well, that's just pedantic, petty and more than a little bit strange.

Wow. What’s your problem? I didn’t attack you or anything. I just said “I don’t think” because I really didn’t know. So you answered my question, thanks, but then you went off. Relax.
Also- the way you wrote it, it didn’t sound like an exaggeration.

This is either poorly worded and unnecessary or the worst threat in forum history

Looks like there is a lot of logic in it, but I have one question: Do you really think Jimmy gives a shit about getoutofjail card? Really?

Obviously the Heat would have to get something done with the Thunder to guarantee the pick they owe them to convey in 2026 and the Nets would have to put this kind of value on Herro but if they did and you were Joe, would you pull the trigger on this trade?

Sean Marks isn’t laying down picks for ~$170M in future salary for meh players.

OKC doesn't need to be involved. The PHX 25 pick just needs to go to Miami & the Heat can send out the 24, 26, 28 & 30 picks

But I would do this deal

Edit: OKC would still have to be involved because right now the 2026 pick is in play so it definitely can't be dealt. Miami owes OKC their 2025 pick lotto protected and if it doesn't convey then it's unprotected in 2026.

No they don't. Miami's 26 can be conditional upon the 25 conveying to OKC. If it doesn't convey, then Portland can have the Miami 25 pick

I would pull the trigger on this trade. And the only reasons I wouldn’t are if any of the following scenarios occur:

    - TOR suddenly thinks the next 3 years is their window and they offer Barnes

    - BRK is good, and they offer Simmons, Clowney, Whitehead, and 4 1sts

With all Dame has done for us, I would want us to do right by him, but we can’t trade him for nothing and he knows that. Ben’s contract will be over before we know it, I’m not really high on Jaquez, but I do really like Jovic.

Having an extra 1st a year in 4 of the next 7 years is also as good as you can hope for. And that doesn’t take anything that comes back for Grant and Ant eventually.

I read the Mavs want a veteran center...we have one. Here we go. And add the draft picks in...as many as we can get. We can switch Herro and Lowry if we want a younger guy though he has more years left.
