Yeah the reporting out of Miami has been so shitty but what I've gathered was the offer was two of their FRPs and one from Herro going to a third team. A slew of seconds must have been coming from elsewhere as well because the Heat only own one second round pick. It was basically going to be three FRPs and who knows what the salary coming with those was going to be, they're not saying so I'm assuming it was shitty, not even expirings. We got Allen who helped us get Ayton, one FRP unprotected, two FRP swaps unprotected and whatever we get for Holiday which the media is saying will be a haul but I'm trying to temper my expectations.

The fucking Heat fans are morons that is one thing I think all of us have been able to agree about during these trying times. Here's to brighter days ahead.

So, I've been thinking about the deal. I can't pretend to use what Miami was "willing" to offer for Dame, only what was actually offered. I'm taking the Suns part out of the deal for simplicity. I keep hearing we took a worse deal, and I think I disagree.

    1. Jrue's trade value > Herro's trade value. Neither player was going to come and stay. The M'eat have been trying to trade Herro, and word was they couldn't even move him for a first. Meanwhile, the discussed value for Jrue has been multiple picks and a young player.

    2. Two first-round picks sometime in the future from Miami < '29 unprotected, '28 and '30 unprotected trade swaps. Miami's organizational competence killed them here. When is the last time they have been terrible? Along with the Spurs, they're the Patriots of the NBA. Meanwhile, Milwaukee will be SPENT in those three years and we'll likely be pretty decent.

I cannot understand how Miami can feel their offer was superior. Please tell me where I'm wrong.

And every single national pundit I have listened to is saying this was a good trade for us. I haven't heard anything negative other than people from Miami and some people around here.

I'm thinking that Heat fans are also victims in this BS.

They were told that they would get a legendary prize for literally pennies on the dollar.
Somehow, they then convinced themselves that they DESERVED Lillard for pennies on the dollar.

They lost 2 rotation players, and don't have a point guard on the roster.
And now, they're trying to remain positive. But not before ripping the Blazers.

With Damian Lillard now with the Bucks in the Eastern Conference, with Jrue Holiday still in the same conference with the Celtics.
    Worst-case outcome for Miami.

Zach Lowe definitively said that Miami made an offer for Holiday and Portland listened and considered it before taking what they felt was a better deal from Boston.

So I think Miami will definitely be in play for Brogdon. It will be interesting to see if we just didn't have time to get the deal done before today and he's still gone in the next few days or if we actually hold onto him for a while.

Not sure where this is being discussed, but I’m seeing on X that we were going to trade Dame to Miami but Dame’s agents made disparaging comments so Joe changed his mind. Anyone know what was said? This explains uprise saying Dame was going to Miami a few days before the Bucks deal.

That BS is from a MIA based "reporter". It is put out by Riley to save face and dispel the notion he is senile.

    Grr:

What with the two Celtics being predictably injured, the nagging thought that we should've taken the Miami deal has reentered my fevered brain.

Of course, if they really DID refuse to give up Jaquez, then nevermind.

Because all we got in the trade was Brogdon and Williams?
