Game Thread 2023-24 Game #10 - BLAZERS @ JAZZ - NOVEMBER 14, 2023 - TUESDAY - 6:00 PM PST - ROOT

You've got Keyonte listed with the starters and the bench. Everything else looks great.

 

The line on this game doesn't seem to have come out yet. The Jazz have been abysmal to this point. Could this be the first game that Vegas favors us in? Don't get me wrong ESPN's matchup predictor gives the Jazz a 74.9% chance of winning and obviously only gives us 25.1%. I feel like the Jazz without Kessler are probably the best chance we have at a win between now and the Wizards on December 21st.

Damn and ESPNs predictive model even if it is flawed only gives us a one out of four chance to win the game. Let's keep our eye on the ball and just watch these games looking for growth and guys building good habits and breaking away from bad ones they've developed in the past.

I don't see us having one of those for a really long time.

 

The Jazz should be better? They have some solid players.

 

This is must win for tournament. If we can go 4-0, we won’t need silly tiebreakers.

 

Speaking of silly.

 

It's a regular season game.

 

I think we gotta play Utah like 4 times in 3 weeks. We're going to be dripping in Jazz.

 

The Kings just smoked the Cavs. Hit 20-42 threes.
Now the Blazers just need to replicate those numbers against Utah.

 

Would be huge to get a second in season tournament win and be 2-0.

Our third game is Friday at home against the Lakers. If we win tonight we would then be in a position to try and go 3-0 against the Lakers which would give us the tie breaker over everyone except Phoenix.

Our last game is against Phoenix, who already has a loss. So if Phoenix loses Friday against the Jazz we would clinch the division (if we are 3-0). Phoenix also plays the Grizzlies the day after Thanksgiving. So if they lose either of those games we would win the group even with a loss to Phoenix (if we can go 3-0 first)

So a win today gets us a real shot to only need to win one of the last two games to make the knockout round. A loss tonight means we need to win against both the Lakers and Phoenix and we need Utah to lose to both Phoenix and LA - that seems unlikely.

It's going to be a ton of losses this year, so if we can have some games with extra meaning it will really help the development of our young players.

Yes ideally Scoot and Ant wouldn't be injured.... But hopefully they are both back while the tourney is going on if we can get these two wins.

 

Lets see if they can get it. Certainly hope they can win one.

Okay we are 6.5 point dogs tonight so the streak of not being favored in a single game this season continues but it doesn't necessarily mean a loss but when looking at the matchup especially the fact that this team has a good group of guards off of bench will be hard for us to overcome. Collins being out would increase our chances.

That being said this season isn't about wins it's about seeing our young guys improve.

 

Thank god that floor is not blinding bright yellow.

 

I'm curious as to how many games have the Blazers as a team shot even over 35% from '3'?
