To get a defensive presence like Sarr? I think I would. I can see other players being individually better, but getting a chance to draft someone who can anchor your defense would really change our team game and prospects going forward. Let's hope we end up in the top 3 again.

A mid first round pick is nice but we already have a lot of young guys to develop. I don't mind giving it up to solidify grabbing Sarr.

Sure as long as he is an elite defender. He seems to be a good shot blocker but his defensive stats, and I feel dirty even saying this because I always question defensive stats in general, are viewed as a weakness.

Jaren Jackson Jr. is not a great rebounder either. Everything I've seen shows he's super mobile, a monster in the transition, and can guard anyone on the floor.

Everyone I've seen cover him think he's elite defensively. Seeing what I've seen, I'd have to agree.

    Agreed.
I get the intrigue... but there is just something about his game that I don't think will translate well.

I have read that well. And as I alluded to, I don't really trust most defensive stats. So I am ok with drafting him, I am just unsure about giving up a pick to move up if Williams or Risacher are available without adding the pick.

jaren jackson jr. also won defensive player of the year. i'd love sarr to be that (he's top 3 on my board), but if he's not a no-brainer defensive player in the nba, he's not a great rebounder and the shot isn't proven.

it speaks to how dicey this year's draft is. risk profile is high for all these guys at the top of the lottery.

Topic is a player I keep going back and forth on with Sarr.

    Manu-esque game.

You can play him with Scoot and Sharpe IMO.

    6’6” without shoes
    7’0” wingspan

Height/length he’s nearly ideatical to Carmelo Anthony:

    6’6.25” without shoes
    7’0” wingspan

Topic has the size to play the SF is my point. The last player I want to see next to Wemby is Topic :banghead2:

I do think you also have to consider weight when we are talking about him playing SF. For limited minutes each night sure, but he only weighs in at 201.

I can see them playing in a 3 guard rotation, but in that scenario, we would need a really good SF back in a trade for Simons. If not I would rather use the pick on a forward and bring Simons off the bench. (Where he would still get 30 minutes a game)

I don't get this at all.
The video that I've seen of him playing - he has looked very pedestrian... kind of pudgy.

I really think he'll struggle significantly with NBA athleticism.

Yeah definitely. I would take a swing on Sarr, even if I had to give up our mid to late first from Golden State. Small price to pay to get a 7-1 guy who can move like a guard. I want the identity of this team to built on defense, not offense. That's why I prefer Sarr to anyone else.

Lots of prospects playing in big games today. I’m watching Kentucky/Tennessee right now. Knecht looking real nice.

Every year there’s a player or two that’s value skyrockets from the tourney. I’m anxious to see who it will be this year.

Knecht with a 40 burger on Kentucky.

    I’d be happy with a Cody Williams/Knecht 1st round

That would be splendid. I hope Cronin is aggressive about moving up/back to get their guys. I want Sarr.

Knecht is a power guard - like Bonzi Wells

Reed Shepherd will end up a top-5 pick

He’s elite in transition and has a skillset that suits playing with Sharpe and Scoot.

    Big time talent

The Ringer’s updated mock has a new #1:

    Reed Sheppard

Productive with the ‘it’ factor. He’s raised his stock more than anyone so far. Is being the top pick realistic? Probably not.
