Just think, all this stress and brain damage trying to figure out a package for KD could have been negated by simply honking twice.
Once again, other teams manage to make huge trades, while Portland rearranges the deck chairs on the Titanic. It’s the same story every year.
what's funny about this thread is to look back and remember all the weak-ass proposals of Blazer trade packages for Durant, and compare it to what the Nets actually got for Durant
Better hope Durant stays healthy because they just the kitchen sink in to get him. As much as I want a championship I don’t think I would have gone that far. Imagine Simons, Sharpe, Grant 4 first and a swap for Durant. Feels like overpay to me
They didn't get top tier talent in that trade, I think Simons/Sharpe and 3 FRPs would have gotten a deal for Durant done, but not sure it would be worth it either.
Not a chance that would have beat the Suns offer. You would have needed to include another first and likely Grant (who the Nets would assuredly try to flip) as well.
I think the offer would have been competitive with Phoenix offer problem was Durant only wanted to go to Phoenix
Jae is nice but already being flipped, Simons is better than Bridges and Sharpe is much better prospect than Cam Johnson. Both those pieces are nice, the difference though is that like 1EJ said, KD wanted Phoenix because they are much closer to a title
