Also, very curious how the 2 day draft impacts movement this yr.

A prospect that seems under-rated to me: Devin Carter. What's not to love? Very athletic, high motor, he can shoot, defend.

He averaged 9 freaking rebounds per game, who cares of he's 6'2? He's someone you could play at SG and not worry about his height.

Yeah, seems like a point of emphasis for the GMs.

Given this, I think Portland needs to prioritize the adage "you can't teach height." It sucks this draft occurs during Portland's rebuild but they have to make something of it. I would be looking BPA at 7 and at 14 a player that you know needs three years to mature like Jermaine O'Neal. There will be a few very good players to come out of this draft. It is the job of Schmitz to find them. I'm sure I am just repeating what others have said though.

there may not be any immediate impact players, but if the comparison is to the 50 selections outside the top-10, I'm seeing a lot of all-NBA selections and all-star games in that list. This upcoming draft probably won't have as much depth, but there will be some future solid players in the class. It's just up to the Blazer F.O. to find them

Was listening to a podcast today and they said Sarr didn’t look very impressive yesterday.

They also said Buzelis has an ugly shot and they are skeptical about him being able to fix it. His shooting percentages were bad.

    They were high on Knecht.

Not stash in the way that teams used to, but if he’s out for a long period of time, we would be stashing him on our injury list and then maybe trade him.

Why would we trade him? If he could recover 100% seems like a good play with us - were not in any sort of rush.

that's what I was suggesting when I drew the parallel with Porter and the Nuggets. He didn't play in his first year but averaged 19 & 7 in his 3rd year

I guess it depends on how many guards we have at the start of the season.

But he wouldn't play this season right? So I don't see why that even matters.

Last years roster had 1 player with more than a single full year of Blazer tenure. When your talking multi-years out NBA rosters, especially rebuilding rosters like ours, just change way more than expected. I think we're a long way from worrying about unproven guys minutes when its very unclear if a single one of them is a long term starter here. Also this guy would for certain come off the bench as a rookie especially being away from basketball a year.

Brogdon contract will be over then, Ant very well may have been traded, perhaps Scoot is best as a backup or busts or is injured... For all we know PG could be our biggest positional need at that time.

I guess it depends on how serious the injury is and what the recovery timeline looks like.

Good. Topic using up a pick 1-6 is good for us.

I wondered that as well? How many phone calls are going to be made as soon as the first day is done?

Am liking Castle more and more in a draft like this, if he measures 6'5 ish w/0 shoes I like him for 7 pick, jack of all trades type guard with good D and his 3 pt shot looked good yesterday

Not condescending at all. But the NBA game is 10x faster than college. No doubt in my mind. My opinion though.

I have mentioned that is how I view this draft as well... I was thinking it was closer to #7-8 instead of #10, but I don't have a statistical model.
I got a lot of push back on those statements. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
