A guard that pulls down 9 rebounds per game is at freak level. He'd be a better pairing to Scoot than Ant, who is a negative defender. Plus he shot nearly 40% from 3, 55% from 2. And he made a number of deep Damian Lillard level 3s. I think he'll end up being the best player in the draft. Pick him at 7 of he's there.

He just set the record for 3/4 court sprint, has a 42 inch vertical? What is this kid's downside aside from being 6'2?

Look at highlights of him defending bigger players inside

    Recent mock:
    7. Portland Trail Blazers: Ron Holland
Portland is years away from putting together a competitive squad, so selecting a high-potential prospect with the seventh pick is not the worst idea. Holland, 18, had an underwhelming lone season with G League Ignite with poor shooting numbers, but his athleticism and explosiveness provide him with a high ceiling.

    High potential but cant shoot?

We were one of the worst shooting teams in the last year, seems that would be an area to improve on. I get, it takes 18 year olds a while to develop.

Castle is an interesting choice. I see him as an Andre Miller/Brogdon-type guard.
But personally, I would rather have any of the 5 you just mentioned over Castle. Well, at least Riscacher, Williams, and Buzelis.

I think he will be a solid NBA player, but with Scoot and Sharpe and even Rupert, I just don't see the need. I am absolutely OK with taking the BPA when the player is obviously that much better than the other option, but is Castle better? I don't see this as a Chris Paul situation.

Andre Miller was one of my fave Blazers ever and a healthy Brogdon would be our best player, so you're not dampening the fire in my heart for Stephon Castle!

I would be frankly amazed if he fell to 7 though. I honestly expect him to get top 3 talk by the time the draft comes around.

Yeah, it wasn't meant as a slight to him. I like him, I just think there are some forwards (a position of need) with similar potential.

It's crazy how far Justin Edwards fell. He was mocked in the top 5 and now he might not even get picked in the first round.

Rumor is that he put on 20 lbs of fat and has lost a lot of his athleticism. His measurables at the combine have been absolutely terrible.

I had this thought too…… but it’s kind of ridiculous.

I’ve been thinking about this. Makes me wonder if a lot of players from this class will come out with a chip on their shoulder and it’ll motivate them to prove everyone wrong.

I'm sure some will, but any player who was going to be good anyways would've just used something different for motivation.

Riscaher is not a 3-and-D player. He has a nice pull-up mid-range shot. The mid-range shot, when you are stopping on a dime, is what separates good offensive players and average ones IMO. Lots of players have a good set shot from deep and can also attack the basket. But the pull-up jumper seems to be a little more difficult, yet so important to have. Does Ruppert have that skill set yet? Maybe but I have not seen it.
