My wife brought old iPads and an iPod in to recycle at an Apple store, and the young guy was excited because he hadn’t seen an old iPod like that.
My knees are shot. That's what tells me. I had TKR on the left knee and I think I might need it on the right knee as well.
My step-grandmother was on the path to TKR, then got a stem cell injection in her knee and 6 months later they told her she no longer needs TKR I hear mixed results about it, and it's expensive and not covered by insurance. But she's (self propelled walk behind) mowing her 1/4 acre yard on her own at 72.
Good for her! I’ve read mixed results on stem cell injections too. It wouldn’t have helped my left knee though. Maybe the right one, but we’ll see. Getting a cortisone shot in a couple of weeks.
You know you’re old when people on this board who are 20 years younger than you start asking when they realized that they are old.
When I was pretty healthy for most of my life then all of a sudden like 4 low risk health issues popped up. When I have zero energy and realized I should have had my kids when I was a little younger. When the stamina I have for working has slowly continued to plummet (can't pull those 80 hour weeks with any sort of consistency like I could in my 20s).
Odd, usually it looks like a train wreck hit my bathroom after I'm done with my morning constitutional.
My right knee tries to argue with me. Stop doing squats. I tell it to shut up and do more squats. Some hearing loss in right ear. Always had terrible eyesight. Arthritis in hands. Otherwise healthy. Walk miles every day and work with weights. I will know I am REALLY old when I can no longer lift my heavy stand mixer onto the kitchen counter.
Same deal with me and the terrible eyesight. Could barely read the big E on the eye chart. Then I got lucky and got cataracts. After lens replacement surgery I’m 20-20 for distance vision.
36 and same. My job can be crazy physically demanding but i think it is a blessing in disguise. I’m more fit than any friends my age, aside from the couple gym rat health nuts.
When i couldn't dye my hair for concerts anymore and had to start shaving bald. I went through quite the transition in high school jazz band….
Me too. but the difference is when I saw my grandfather staring back at me, he said "Occupied!" and I left the bathroom.
First thing in the morning, sitting at the kitchen table. After drinking half a cup of coffee, and not getting the slightest lift, while thinking the coffee is too weak. I look down at clear hot water, and realized I forgot to add the coffee.
