    If we pry a pick from LA that'll be great, I just doubt we will be able to.

    OKC has the #1 defense even without a center, they're so quick and force so many turnovers. Hartenstein should be back in the next few weeks.

    I'd guess if Timelord is healthy until the trade deadline he likely has the most value and might fetch a Josh Hart level of return with a late FRP. However Grant Ayton Ant have much larger contracts that contenders don't have room for any longer with the 2nd apron.

    I just don't see it being possible that a contender both fits their salary and coughs up a pick. The demand is probably a bit worse for them now that they're having such poor seasons too. Look at Ants %, and hes known to be a big negative on defense.

    I'd strongly expect all three of Grant Ayton Ant are here after the trade deadline, which is so depressing. I'd happily take a worthless Clippers trade return if the alternative is keeping their ball hogging play on the team.

    The Hornets basically don't have a center at this point. Any chance they'd be interested in Ayton?

    I can see it, although looking through their roster to find a deal that's palatable is tough. Martin, Williams/Green, and Micic gets you there $$ wise, but Williams and Green each have 3 years on their deals. If we could find a taker for one of them, I'd do it, however.

    He's a massive expiring contract, that's why he's in trade proposals.

    This is a give away. I don't think you're going to get assets for Ayton. Best we can do is get out of his contract a year early.

    Portis is better than Ayton.

    Also Dame hates Ayton, that's why the Blazers didn't acquire him for Nurkic a year earlier.

    Here's one idea

    upload_2024-11-18_15-56-26.png

    -Pelicans may not want Ayton salary for Ingram but if they can cut CJ's deal who is nearly the same $ as Ayton and just have DeJonte at PG maybe they'd go for it.
    -Pistons add more shooting
    -Heat get role players they'd rather have for similar money. If we didn't have the CJ history I'd probably just prefer we keep him but its likely best CJ goes to a 3rd team

    We get a decent backup big in Stewart on a reasonable deal, and cut salary with Hardaway expiring. Rozier/Duncan wouldn't complain about being backups as much as Simons/Ayton.

    Then get a pick from the Lakers and one from the Thunder;

    upload_2024-11-18_16-5-8.png

    Our lineup would be;

    Banton - Scoot
    Sharpe - Rozier
    Camara - Rupert - Murray
    Deni - Duncan
    Clingan - Stewart - Vanderbilt
    2 FRP

    Flip/buyout/cut all of Vincent/Kenrich/JHS/Wood/Hardaway

    Salary cap next season would go from this;
    36 Ayton
    32 Grant
    28 Simons
    13 Timelord
    12 Thybulle

    to this
    25 Rozier
    19 Duncan
    15 Stewart
    11 Vanderbilt
    11 Vincent

    So would save about 40million

    Plus have more expiring movable contracts for trades next year. Stewart & Vanderbilt are the only ones that would go beyond next season.

    You need to cut 3 people before pulling off a 5 for 2 swap.

    Pistons have enough cap space to take on Simons in exhange for Tim Hardaway's expiring. They could pair him with Cade Cunningham in the backcourt.

    I’m probably out of my mind but I wouldn’t trade RW for anything less than 1st rounder. “If” he stays healthy he’s a difference maker for championship level team

    Totally agree, needs to be at least a decent first rounder. If he is healthy from now until the deadline Id think he is worth that.

    if I’m being honest I don’t want to trade him at all! That said, I don’t have his medical records so I don’t know if he’s just been injury prone or if he’s got BRoy knees. Makes it easier for me to say I wouldn’t take less than a good 1st rounder for him because I don’t want him gone even then I’d be upset because I love his game. Maybe best big we’ve had in last 20 plus years.

    He's like a quicker more athletic version of Brian Grant.
