Would like to hear the Cronin supporters opinion then if your statement is true. Why did Cronin give him a 100 million contract when there were zero teams out there to offer him anything and he was a restricted free agent? Why did we slot him primarily as a SG for multiple years after Olshey was let go?
Totally different players with different games. I think Harold Minor is a better comparison. Hope he does better than Baby Jordan did.
I'm not sure if just saying he's fine as a GM would make somebody a supporter. Seems like an average to better than average GM might make those decisions for various reasons...
The question in that poll was "Is Joe Cronin a good GM?" which 11 people voted yes. (edit now its 14 people!!!) I'd say if you think Cronin is a good GM then you are a supporter. Who would think he is a good GM but not be a Cronin supporter? Like they think he's good but they want the Blazers to have a bad GM instead.
Yeah I can see your point. Seems like there's different degrees of support there... But I get what you're asking now.
I’m not sure what the average GM tenure is. But I’d willing to bet it’s like 5 years. Generally it’s their one shot. You have to swing for the fences. Not play it super safe. A lot of these GM’s collecting draft assets 3 or 4 years out are collecting them for the next GM.
