Swiss hazelnut cake. Lid of frangelico stuck fast but unlike guy in Domino's pizza and I did get it off finally.
Pierogies! Haven’t had them in years. My grandma made those all the time. Usually with sauerkraut and ground pork. Was a staple in my polish heritage.
Brisket turned out great. Especially for first time. 18 hour cook time. I smoked it using my Traeger. Tons of leftovers for sandwiches and chili
Very nice ... appreciate anyone will to try out a brisket and doing it for the first time for Christmas is pretty ballsy! Always tell people the rest time is more important than they realize when starting out! Also, for leftovers try making enchiladas, I found an easy sauce recipe and the brisket is delicious in enchiladas!
Finally gave in and got me wife a Vitamix blender for her smoothies. I about fell over when I seen how expensive they are. She made a good pointing that I payed big bucks for my Traeger.
Been hinting at my wife that I want to get a new smoker for around 2k (still on the 'cheap' side) and she's all for it ... has me wondering what fun thing has been waiting to spring on me after I make that purchase! Been kicking around the idea of starting a small side hustle doing brisket, can clear about $100 a brisket in profit and if I can get a smoker that is a little easier than the stick burner I'm running now, it could be a nice little chunk of fun money to stash away.
Finally took Thanksgiving turkey carcass out of freezer to make soup. Southwest style with black beans, corn, grens, muy picante. Garnish with avocado, fried tortilla strips, pepitas, squeeze of lime. Took astonishing number of pots. Sheet pan to roast carcass and vegetables. Stock pot to simmer broth. Second stock pot with strainer insert to strain stock. Instant pot to cook beans. Finally Dutch oven to make soup.
Neighbor gave away oranges from her tree. Too sour for good eating. I made five jars of orange marmalade.
