If the Fakers want to contend they'll pay up. Should be the Mavs anyway.

I think he'd be a fool to SAY otherwise.

Trading's a game. It's a negotiation. Always start by asking for more and offering less and then compromise.

When I first saw that post, my reaction is "We're going to trade Timelord for a protected first."

There is a problem with the Lakers pick being protected and that is that they've already traded their 2031 second round pick and the only pick they can trade is their 2031 FRP. If there are protections on that pick and the pick lands within the protected range then we will get nothing. The fact is they only have a FRP in the last year picks can be traded right now so they can't roll a protection forward or anything like that.

I think the Lakers and Joe should be good with us sending them Rob and a future second round pick with them sending us Vincent, Reddish and their 2031 FRP unprotected. Throw another future second rounder on from us if that makes the thing go through but we aren't giving them Rob and therefore a much better chance at a title, taking Vincent's bad contract and not getting a FRP in return.

listen I’m tired of your smug arrogant attitude. I’ve coached kindergarten and 1st graders I can tell when a coach isn’t playing the kids I want to see play

I agree with most of what you said Sharpe needs to improve his defense so I can see why he was demoted. Scoot deserved to be in last night and would have been good for him to learn in those moments

by the way I’ve coached all the way up to high school level so my knowledge is just below NBA level

Hey, I'll gladly take the unprotected first if they can get it; the Blazers have a glut at the 5. I'm completely on board with the trade-Grant train if it goes threw Portland and carries some draft capital. The Blazers have shown they can win without Grant and that he's a luxury, and now Grant's had a couple of games to show contenders he's still got enough of an offensive game left to be a very solid complementary piece.

If they can deal Ant and get something decent in return, I'm fine with that, although I don't like giving a 3-level scorer who's trying harder on defense and playing at a better-than-Dame level on that end right now for nothing just because he's 25.

I'm just not for trading guys for nothing. If our young guys are good enough, and if Chauncey's really playing to win, I don't think he's holding Scoot, Shaedon and Clingan out just because he likes players a couple of years older. Clingan clearly needs to watch and practice against someone like Ayton. Shaedon needs to grow up a bit, I think, and we need to find out whether he really loves the game before we give away players to clear the road for him. Scoot's pretty much ready to run the team, and he's been getting good minutes and even clutch minutes ... if these kids are ready to play, like Scoot, Chauncey will play them.

I just can't get excited about that return. I'd only consider it if we got good draft assets out of them.

Ant's definitely what the Magic is missing. I think this trade really would make us so much worse in the backcourt, though ... honestly, not even being the biggest Banton fan and I'd rather have him than either of the two young Magic guards.

I think we might need to think a little more about Chauncey's system, too. Yeah, Chauncey likes long guys that can defend ... but he also likes guys offensively who can create and score on their own, and I don't think he's so dogmatic as to hold poor defense against a guy that can get buckets.

With that prospective Timelord asking price, too, I think one has to consider that if it's for a pick this year, no team drafting in the top 10 maybe with the exception of OKC is trading for Robert Williams. You're looking at a pick 15-somewhere in the 20s, so protecting it wouldn't be necessary.

Orlando 1-9 last 10 games, would think the pressure is on the do something and get some shooting which they are awful at

Anfernee Simons... hometown hero come on down and we'll throw in Dalano Banton and all it will cost Orlando is Denver's FRP in this draft, Anthony Black and Cole Anthony.

I think that's a good trade for both teams... obviously because I've been suggesting some iteration of this it way too much since the 2024 draft.

Just cause we are not hearing of rumors does not mean Joe is sitting around his office taking a nap or something. In some ways not hearing rumors gives me hope cause most of the time when we hear rumors that means the deal is either dead by one of the teams not liking the others offer.

I guess maybe my definition of core player is different from others

for me, a core player is elite or indispensable. I think there were two core players on the Aldridge/Dame team: Dame and Aldridge. From 2015 thru 2023, the Blazers had one core player: Dame

I think it's uncommon for a team to have more than 2 core players; and quite rare to have more than 3. And core players are pretty much untouchable unless they ask to be traded

for this current team, nobody has reached the level of a core player yet, at least not how I define it. One or two of Scoot-Sharpe-Deni-Camara may reach core status in the next 2-3 seasons. But that's not certain, at all
