The problem is that the Democrats haven't actually pushed to audit everything enough.

    Like the military industrial complex?

We know the Republicans want that waste, because that's how they can extract money and power from the system. They don't even really hide that anymore.

But the Democrats claim they aren't about that money. They claim they want to clean that up. They claim they want to help the people. They claim they want to support individual freedom.

But their actions don't support their claims. So most voters don't feel like there's anybody actually on their side.

This is how you get apathy. The Democrats have to be better or too many voters will be apathetic and we will lose this country. There is no other choice.

Democrats need to stop showing so much leg. They are just asking for it, and they have no one but themselves to blame.

Democrats aren't the victim here. The people are. You are the one blaming the victim.

You are the one supporting, even defending the "Ghislaine Maxwell" in this case.

I don't think that analogy is better.

The people are the victims, but they are also the perpetrators.

It's not like the democrats are perfect or something. They aren't, and they never will be.

But I don't think it's a reasonable or effective response to the current situation for non-Trumpists to form a circular firing squad.

    Fire away.

Highly recommend! I also read somewhere that they are one of the few Toyotas only made in Japan, and are thus super-reliable. Can confirm - my current one (got second hand) is way over 200,000 miles and drives like new. In Michigan, which is super hard on cars.

There's so much wrong with Vance's stupid response that it's pointless responding. But here goes.
First of all, he would know about Internet Trolls, being one.
Second "denies grace to people who make mistakes"? Are you fucking shitting me? So he's going to empty the prisons? He's going to fight Trump's move to ramp up the death penalty? Or are the forgivable "mistakes" only committed by people useful to his side?

Ah, what's the point. May the fleas of a thousand camels infest his armpits.

So........with Medicare Supplemental Insurance rates going up and the range of benefits diminishing, I have been considering using my veteran's health care benefits, as promised to me in 1972. I have an older friend who has relied on them for decades and his experiences were generally positive. But......he was recently told by his physician that he (the physician) and all Veteran's health care providers received a letter that told them they could resign or wait it out to see if they still have a job. WTF???? These are veterans!!! Vietnam vets are now senior citizens. They not only NEED the health care they were promised, they are OWED it. How does Trump, Musk or ANY OTHER human being justify this??? Fuck, we got spit on, trash thrown at us, told we were fools and tools. Treated like shit. Then somewhere, somehow the nation (despite another fabricated war) started to show a little respect and veterans were honored. Jesus effing Christ has the worm turned. Cut off at the knees by a grifting draft dodger, an illegal immigrant and VP who, as a veteran himself takes great delight in shitting on other veterans. Very few people are willing to serve anymore and it is unconscionable bullshit like this that is driving that bus. Yep, let's send America's kids off to bleed and die so we can cheat the fuck out of them when they need what was promised when they need it most. Anyone who really thinks American is "great" is a brain damaged moron. We are now officially a third world shithole........

I'm so sorry. Thank you so much for your service.

But yes. I definitely tell my kids to avoid joining the military.

Well, not "THE" problem. It's a symptom of "THE" problem that is causing Democrats to lose to such shitty candidates and preventing positive change.

They HAVE to be better. People are never going to support corporate democrats enough to counteract the damage corporations and republicans will do to our country.

Every incumbent party in every democracy lost in 2024. Lots of generalized discontent. No doubt Democrats made mistakes but seems people everywhere just wanted whoever was in power, left, right, center, out without considering who the alternative was.

Did everywhere else elect the same person they'd fired for incompetence the prior election? Anywhere else?

The $40 million President Musk spent on Super Bowl ads lying about AID would have paid for 29 tons of food purchased from American farmers to feed hungry people.

    That seems way off.

    • Price per metric ton: In 2023, the average price of wheat in the U.S. was $340 per metric ton.
    • A ton of beef, based on the average price of beef and the weight of a whole cow, would cost around $2,000 to $4,000 or more, depending on the specific factors like the breed, weight, and processing method.
    • The price of a ton of corn varies depending on the type of corn and when it was purchased. As of February 2025, the price of corn in the US was around $201.31 per metric ton.
    • A ton of chicken, specifically chicken meat, would cost around $1,470 - $1,750 per ton based on recent market prices.

The only thing that gets close to that would be...

As of February 10, 2025, a ton of silver is worth around $1,046,830. The price of silver fluctuates, so the value of a ton of silver can change daily.

I have had to think about how to respond to this, so.......thanks for the thanks, but I honestly wasn't looking for that. No offense, but it's too little, too late. That and a buck still leaves me short of the price of a cup of coffee. Most of us got over that expectation as very young men (and women). We just want what we were promised when we signed on the dotted line. Trump does NOT honor his commitments and veterans are just further collateral damage to his ego.....and those of his Billionaire Boyz (and Linda) Club. And more and more Americans are just fine with that. Sometimes it pays to be in my seventies...........

I saw during the Super Bowl that T Mobile is teaming up with Starlink. Does that matter to any of you who are current T Mobile customers?
