She was always going to be considered for the next Olympic team. She won't be in the NCAA tournament so will not miss Team USA training camp...
It's important to state the accurate facts with regards to some pop icons and references because many tend to believe anything nowadays. Regardless of if it started as a joke or sarcasm. Unfortunately, this is one of those topics
I love that fact that people were actually trying to argue that she wasn’t deserving of the ROY…..and stood by their opinions. Baffling.
Clark wasn’t a “rookie”. She was a 1st team all league player who has completely change the game on and off the court, but the league and her fellow players and vets were not accepting of her at all last season and they chose to bring on vets to that Olympic team and not her for a reason.
Well if we have to watch her 41 times a year for the next few years we might as well let her play in the Olympics as well.
The reason wasn't nefarious. You could argue making an exception but no need for conspiracy theories. Keep ini d also that WNBA season begins almost immediately after NCAA. She played better after getting a bit of a break
Nobody in the same situation has ever made it... You have to go to Team USA camp and try out before you can make Team USA. She couldn't go to camp because she was in the NCAA tournament. I don't understand how politics even come into play... @kjironman1 See what I mean? Lol
She wasn't 1st team yet. She wasn't even a rookie yet, in all honesty. Lol. She was really good. But playing the whole college season, The Tourney, then Olympics, followed by the full wnba season with hardly any time off would be incredibly tough on her body. She'll have plenty of opportunities. Nobody is out to get her. They are competing with her. That should be encouraged. The incessant whining from her fans is the biggest problem I have with her.
Kinda seems like playing for the national championship might be a pretty good tryout for the team though.
There are incoming wnba players playing for the championship every season. It's not a good idea to play non-stop for that long. That's a great way to injure some very valuable players. And then they will not have practiced together. It could throw off team chemistry. There is every reason not to allow this kind of thing in this situation. With some pretty big potential down sides. There isn't much of a payoff by rushing these players in. And leaving people wanting more just brings in more money.
