    Pre-Raw Commercial
Nikki tells all about turning on her sister tonight. And Brock beat Cena! All at the top of the hour.

    Raw Start

    Video

Recap of SummerSlam, in an old school feeling video. Recap of the matches on the card. Superman and Serpent. The Ayatolla of Rock & Rolla and The Eater of Worlds! The Lunatic Fringe and Mr. MITB. The Bella of The Ball and the Billionaire Baroness. The Beast battled The Champ!

Steph comes bouncing out chanting “YES!” “YES!” “YES!” in jeans and a red v-necked Steph! Steph! Steph! Shirt! Into the ring, all smiles. Mixed reaction from the fans.

Steph – I have to thank you all for chanting my name when I came out. Steph! Steph! Steph!

A lot of fans are actually on their feet, pointing up, chanting Steph! Steph! Steph!

Steph – But let’s talk about last night. SummerSlam was one of the most epic PPVs in WWE history. We’ve been monitoring social media, and a lot of you have been saying SummerSlam was even better than WrestleMania. One of the reasons why, because we crowned a new WWE WHC. (heat) Tonight, The Authority will present the brand new WWE WHC to Brock Lesnar! We here at WWE wish John Cena a fast recovery after one of the most brutal beat-downs I’ve ever seen. What was it? 15, 16 suplexes? I don’t know how Cena will recover from that. Cena wasn’t the only one to recover from something. Jericho had to recover from his lesson in humility in losing to Bray Wyatt. Dean Ambrose learned that Rollins was the one to make The Shield, as he was beaten by Mr. MITB himself. (heat) By far, the biggest loser of the night was my opponent, Brie Bella. Brie learned first hand not to mess with The Authority. Not mentally, not emotionally, and certainly not physically. The Authority always wins. You can relive my incredible victory, as well as all the incredible matches on the WWE Network for just $9.99, anytime you wish. I can’t take all the credit. I’d like to publicly thank Trip. I’d like to thank him for being my rock, always standing by my side, and for always being faithful, unlike Daniel Bryan. Bryan cheated on Brie because he found out who she is. Despite her sweet exterior, deep down, all she cares about it herself. Here to tell you more about Brie, the person who knows her best, Brie’s sister, Nikki Bella.

Nikki out in a black bondage dress with leather insets. On her way down the ramp she stepped out of one of her Louboutins. She stops, picks it up, shrugs, walks to the bottom of the ramp and puts it back on her foot. Steph hands Nikki the mic, then they hug to heat.

Steph – You need to hear Nikki out. You saw how upset she was, she’s not herself. Nikki, it takes a lot to come out and stand out against someone who has been abusing you for so long, someone you love so much, but some people are saying it was an act of betrayal, and I’d like your point of view.

    “You sold out!” chants.

The show opens with Justin Roberts introducing Hulk Hogan. Hogan makes his way out to a big pop from the crowd.

Hogan’s got a mic in hand, and he wants to tell the Hulkamaniacs something. He can’t think of a better way to kick off SummerSlam that with Hollywood Hulk Hogan. Tonight is a night of great proportions, where dreams are made. Where mortal can become immortal, and people can etch their names in the history books. Hogan says if you’re not in Los Angeles, he knows you’re watching the broadcast on the WWE Network. And he doesn’t care where in the world you are, or what you’re doing, he knows what you paid. $9.99. Not only do you get to watch SummerSlam, he rattles off some of the other shows you get with your subscriptions, hitting the $9.99 price point again. Hogan asks what you’re gonna do when the Network, Hogan, and SummerSlam run wild on you?

We cut to a video package cut together like a faux movie trailer with various WWE SuperStars in starring roles. It’s similar to other SummerSlam video packages put together in the past, and highlights some of the main feuds heading into the show tonight. It’s nice that more matches than simply the top two get a little screen time in the opening video package this go around.

The pyro hits and Michael Cole welcomes us to the show. The lights go out, and Miz’s music hits. Miz makes his way out with a mic in hand to a bit of heat from the crowd. Miz says this Summer is dominated by talking robots and ninja turtles, but tonight the fans are here with a non-CGI movie star. A man with something everyone in this town wishes they had. Miz points to his face and says ‘the moneymaker. He says he’ll make Dolph Ziggler go from a bright, shiny star, into a miserable failure, basically the WWE version of the Lakers.

Dolph Ziggler is out next, and the show-off gets a nice reception from the fans in attendance. Ziggler tells the fans that he hears them.

In a weird note, Cole welcomes the German announce team, who are sitting ringside tonight.

As the laps dwindled, Chris Buescher's anxiety rose.

The 21-year-old rookie was leading the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course -- gunning for his first victory -- but was running out of fuel.

"I was really focusing on taking deep breaths at that point," Buescher said about the final laps before he hung on to capture the Nationwide Children's Hospital 200 on Saturday for his first victory. "I found myself on every straightaway just telling myself to relax a little bit."

Buescher took the lead on the 68th of 90 laps and sipped fuel the rest of the way to hold off Regan Smith and Brian Scott. He became the third rookie to win in the series this year.

Smith, in particular, was waiting for Buescher to run out of gas.

#1 IBF Kell Brook (33-0, 22 KOs) really lived up to his nickname last night by out pointing the talented and proven IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter (24-0-1, 15 KOs) in handing him his first defeat of his career at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. The final judges’ scores were 114-114, 117-111 and 116-112, all for Brook.

#6 WBC Anthony Dirrell (27-0-1, 22 KOs) beat WBC super middleweight champion Sakio Bika (32-6-3, 21 KOs) by a 12 round unanimous decision on Saturday night to capture the WBC 168 pound champion. The final judges scores were 114-113, 116-111 and 117-110. Bika lost a point for hitting low in the 8th round.

It was an ugly fight filled with rabbit punches, low blows, elbows and hitting on the break. Bika did an awful lot of fouling in the fight, but luckily for him referee Jack Reiss didn’t want to ruin the fight by taking off multiple points or disqualifying Bika for fouling.

Dirrell started out the fight looking for a KO in the 1st round, as he went after Bika big time in landing some monstrous head shots while showing off blazing hand speed. By the 3rd, Dirrell calmed down and was looking to land pot shots to win rounds. His trainer was asking Dirrell to throw his jabs, but he wasn’t having any of that.

Showing a great deal of restraint, unbeaten heavyweight knockout artist Deontay Wilder (32-0, 32 KOs) toyed with his hapless opponent 37-year-old Jason Gavern (25-16-4, 11 KOs) in stopping him at the end of the 4th round.

Deontay knocked Gavern down once in the 3rd and another time in the 4th. After the 4th round ended, Gavern quit on his stool rather than come out for more punishment by the hard hitting Deontay.

In the 3rd round, Deontay landed a beautiful sweeping right hand to the side of the head for the first knockdown. Gavern bellyached him being hit with a punch behind the head, but I saw it as a clean knockdown from a shot to the side of the head.

Making his 4th defense of his IBF cruiserweight title Yoan Pablo Hernandez (29-1, 14 KOs) defeated a tougher than expected Firat Arslan (34-8-2, 21 KOs) by a 12 round split decision in a fight that looked closer to be a draw than a win for Hernandez on Saturday night at the Messehalle in Erfurt, Germany.

Arslan continually plodded forward for the first 8 rounds in forcing the 29-year-old Hernandez to throw a lot more punches than he wanted to. Hernandez’s German trainer had him throwing lighter shots in order to keep from getting tired, but Hernandez frequently put all he had into his shots.

The judges scored the fight 115-113 for Arslan, 115-113 and 116-113 for Hernandez. The 116-113 score was a little off. The fight was a lot closer than that.

Johnny Sauter's unusually positive outlook turned out to be spot on.

"I told my wife when I went to bed last night, I said, 'Man, I think I'm going to win tomorrow," he said. "For me to say something like that means something. I'm usually a pretty pessimistic person."

Sauter won his first NASCAR Truck Series race of the season Saturday, holding off ThorSport Racing teammate Matt Crafton at Michigan International Speedway. Sauter also took over the points lead. Ryan Blaney finished 21st after winning the pole and dropped from first place to third, behind Sauter and Crafton.

Denis “Djingis Khan” Shafikov dished out a thorough clubbing of Rustam “Mongoose” Nugaev tonight in an IBF lightweight title eliminator at the Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez, California.

Denis scored a ninth round TKO victory. The all-Russian affair promised fireworks and the orthodox (Nugaev) vs southpaw matchup began at a tactical pace. Shafikov anticipated Rustam’s jab well and was able to block it at times. Denis landed a short left to close the round. The close in fighting continued through the second but the leather began to flutter, if not fly once the third round bell sounded. Shafikov bloodied Nugaev’s nose early and sought to capitalize. Body shots caused Rustam to stand straight up more than once and the follow up uppercuts from Denis did even more damage.
