Reports out of Houston suggest that a deal is on the table which would see the Rockets trading out of the 1st round. The player that Houston is supposedly targeting, Luther Head, might not be on the board at 24 according to what his agent Mark Bartelstein told us earlier today. It?s his belief that Head will end up being selected ?in the teens,? which would mean that the Rockets would have to select from a crop of raw European small forwards and big men or reach for a college player who is a little bit lower down on their board.

Hmmm. What do you guys think? I rather stay at 24 and not move down. But It all depends on what Atlanta plans on trading.

What would the trade be? 24 for 31 and i guess a future 2nd round pick?
I think it is a true rumor. Really sucks though, i was hoping for the bonzi wells trade. David Lee is probably the guy the rockets are going to get. He was good in the chicago camp and could possibly be a steal.

Blatche could still be available in the early 2nd round.

I don't know what to think about this.
Luther Head was one of my favorite college players this year.
But at the same time I'm thinking the last thing we need is another undersized half point/half shooting guard. Although he does seem like a Van Gundy type player.

Im quite surprised that we're interested in Head...we desperately need a 4 man, and I'm tired of seeing us draft foreigners who have "potential"...I would prefer it if we drafted a young talent who can help us now...but if we're interested in Head, I suppose that would mean Wesley and/or Sura are definitely out...

Thats False, I was watching WB 39 and Carroll Dawson said with his own words, that they are drafting a power foward and if they don't get who they're looking for that they are going to draft the best player available regardless of whatever position it can or will be.

I doubt the validity of this as well. Luther Head is a tweener in the Eddie House mold who won't be the pure point guard the team needs. I also think that Head will not go in the first round because of this, and I haven't heard of any Rockets interest in this guy until now. Draftexpress.com is also a site that I haven't known of before.

Because we don't have the best speed and leadership (in my opinion) at the guard positions
On another note. Do you think that anyone would notice if quietly kidnapped John Barry's brother Brent, shaved his head and called him John while leaving the real John in san antonio with a fake beard???

This article actually turned out to be half true in that we were interested in Head. What do I know...

I guess this means that we'll be looking at free agent power forwards. There is also a shot of Badiane joining the team, and although he won't be likely making an immediate impact, his athleticism and jumping ability will be welcome.
