Wake Forest #11? That's INSANE. Boston College #4? Not insane, but darn close. I like NC State, a lot, but I don't think that they're a preseason top 25 team. He's got to get off of the ACC for a couple of minutes. On a lighter note, he actually gave some love to the Big 10. He's been doing that more and more recently, and hopefully it continues
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">12. Iowa</div>That came as a huge surprise to me. I mean, I think they have all sorts of potential to be good. They have a great trio or players in Haluska, Brunner, and Horner. Beyond that, everything else is solid. Doug Thomas, Mike Henderson, etc, are all good players. Iowa has a very promising team this year in my opinion, and now that they finally have some senior leadership and good depth, they should be contending for a Big 10 title. However, to see them ranked so high before the season even starts is shocking to me. Hopefully, they'll finally play to their potential this year and make a run in the Big 10.
Wow BC at 4 I love BC but I dont know about 4th in country. Dudley and Smith are the real deals. The success of this season will depend on Sean Williams playing this year. Sean Williams is perhaps one of the nations best shock blockers in the country. We should be somewhere around 10
To see Dickie V's versus the ESPN/ABC top 25 is like night and day. Especially the Top 10. Peek the top 10 Here. You can expect a difference from 11-25, but this big of one? I think Dickie's going out on a limb a little more though, that's kind of his job. 11-25 Here. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting HASAN33:</div><div class="quote_post">I love BC but I dont know about 4th in country. It's nice to see a little resurgence in BC's following lately. And to start the season, I don't really even see them in the top 10, but Dickie may very well be on the mark here, come March.
I like Dickie V's rankings. In a way, they're refreshing, especially seeing Connecticut so low (thank God I'm not the only one who hasn't bought into the hype). Where are George Washington and Iowa State though? By the way, did anyone else notice that Dickie V only ranked one SEC team? No Alabama, no LSU, no Arkansas - just Kentucky. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Moo2K4:</div><div class="quote_post">However, to see them ranked so high before the season even starts is shocking to me. I personally think Dickie V is about right. They'll be one of the top tier teams this season, especially if Mike Henderson continues to play like he did at the end of last season.

They've really got to pray that Horford and Brewer can adjust to their new roles, or hey, there's always next year.
I like his rankings, but I think Lousville might be a little overated. I like the ranking of Oklahoma, many other polls have them too high. I like George Washington should be in there though and also Iowa State.

I wouldn't sleep on them in any sort of tourny.
I've lost all respect for Dickie for numerous reasons. Vilanove needs to be a top 10 team, I htink Miami deserves a top 25 ranking with that sensational backcourt. UCONN should be a bit higher and Wake Forest is not a top 15 team IMO.
I can't help but like Vitale because of his passion for the game, but he really just loves the ACC too much. Not related, but please Big Ten, take out the ACC in the challenge this season. I think this is a good year for that!

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting j0se:</div><div class="quote_post">exactly, come on Charlotte over Miami?</div> Charlotte is actually a major sleeper this year. They lost a couple of real good players from last year, but Curtis Withers is one of the best players in the country that no one talks about and they've got some talent around him. Moving to the A-10, even though it's improved this year, will also give them a boost. #2 in the A-10 looks better to voters than #5 or 6 in the ACC. I'm sure they'll be in the NCAA tourney this year.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting CoryMania:</div><div class="quote_post">Like seriously why is Arizona State not on that list, they are going to be really good, Right??</div> No, Arizona State lost Ike Diogu, and that's as big a loss for any team in the country. They've got some guys, like Kevin Kruger, who can make things interesting, but if they finish .500 this year, it should be considered a success.

Or do you all have a player who can step right in and be productive with Harris out? Either way, I don't think Miami is a top 25 team just yet. They are also matured though and I think they deserve it.
