<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The expected season debut of Boston Celtics guard Tony Allen was put on hold Friday because of continued pain in his surgically repaired right knee.

Whether the Chicago native's NBA career is hurt by the pending criminal case against him remains to be seen. Allen will return to Chicago on Tuesday to face an arraignment on aggravated battery charges.

"I'm trying to have my lawyers get it to where I (don't have) to report for (future court dates),'' Allen said. "It (is not) like I'm going to be out of town to be out of the country or (anything). I'm going to see what I can do to stay more focused on basketball than this situation.'' </div>

That something that I didn't expect at all.

The article says they might cut him if he goes to jail.

They should have added that the sky is blue and that apples grow on trees.

If troubles with law keeps him out, Boston loses a significant bench player in Allen.

I think if he goes to jail, he might not be as effective.

How about this? There's no possible way he serves jail time for aggrevated battery, so we have nothing to worry about.

If a player serves jail time, he may as well be dead to his team, there's no point paying a guy millions to rot in the can.

But again, nothing to worry about, there is NO WAY he serves any time. Any legal expert will tell you this.

As for realgm printing a story by the SouthEastNowhereJebrew Times on their site and calling it news, I think it's time that we just boycott that site altogether. That's really reaching, and once again shows the level (or lack) of professionalism on that site.

    RealGM just makes me sick.

He ain't going to jail! He'll pay a fine or settle out of court for a hefty sum.... Now, if I did that and got caught on camera I'D GO TO JAIL. Tony Allen will be on the court for the C's within the next 10 days. One.

The thing is if Allen pleads guilty or is found guilty, the Cs could exercise a moral clause, which is everyone's contract, then cut him with no hit against the salary cap.

He's not exactly a huge hit against the salary cap anyway, and he IS a part of their plans in the future, so I don't see the sense in this. Yes, they could cut him, but why would they? The man won't spend a day in jail, and he certainly won't have to worry any extended stay.

As for Dynasty, I don't think he'll even end up settling for all that much. It wasn't a particularly severe beating, and he has no priors, so I wouldn't worry about him getting hit too hard in the wallet either.

At this point, this whole deal is a minor inconvenience, and it'll be forgotten in another three months.
