Although the waivers of players on non-guaranteed contracts happen on the regular in the NBA, it is alarming that the Rockets are going through so many of them and not giving these guys opportunities to play. Lucas and Davis have only been dressed for two games and they're now being let go. This is leading me to doubt whether Dawson knows what he's doing. If he is, he should have a target whom he thinks can help the team, instead of just filtering through minor-leaguers.
Lucas looked looked pretty good against Washington, so I'm kind of dissapointed. But then, other players are coming off the injury list and we don't have enough roster spots for all of them, so I guess we should have expected this.
It's kinda sad, you knew they'd be released sooner or later but I mean after 2 games? You get their hopes up, they get excited to play in the Rockets, or better yet, the NBA, you see how happy they are in interviews... And they they get released...
I think Lucas should be in the NBA. I'm not sure who they are going to trade for or sign for unless the Rockets are apart of the 3 or 4 team trade involving artest. It looks like were getting 2 for 1 because our roster at this point stands at 14 when max is 15.

Thus, our roster still stands at fifteen.
Actually I think TmacGarnett is right, we did have an extra spot but we waived two players, not one. We went from 16 players to 14 right now; I think.

Getting rid of Lucas with his quickness is not what I thought was next. I think he could have taken Moochie's spot.
I just hope we get some nba experience that is half decent and doesn't contribute to our team's age. I would love to get a young player in a trade.
right now... i don't think we should give away yao, tracy, head (he has potental), swift.... they are our future more likely... they are all young.. i don't mind trading david, alston, or anyone else besides them...
I think houston management sucks. how many players they have now? 8? they waived stephen graham!!! he was good man!!
?????????????? STEPHEN GRAHAM GREAT? omg... i was pissed at him when he got playing time casue he intends to shoot right after he gets the ball instead of passing.... i agree though... signing josh davis was useless... but u can't blame cd of signing lucas... he never knew alston would come back in saturday at all....
Ok well i dunt think its right for yo ugo to out and already doubt dawson when he was the one who brought this team together and brought mcgrady here. No NBA team leaves their roster at 14 men u can check any roster no on leaves their roster at 14 man especially a team with injuries. Right now i think Yao Ming and Moochie Norris and bob sura and injured and jon barry and derek anderson are set to return. So this leaves us with us one point guard for the next game. This leads me to believe we are going to sign one or we are going to make a deal.
Hey guys don't get dissapointed about them (Lucas,Davis) being released. I think the Rockets Org. did it for financial reasons. If they didn't released them by friday they could have a guaranteed contract for the remainder of the season. NBA teams are are given until friday(jan. 6,2006) to decide whether to release players without guaranteed contracts, otherwise if they're not released by that date means the contracts will be guaranteed for the season. By tuesday(jan.10,2006), NBA teams will be allowed to sign players with a 10 days contract with the option of extending it if the player they signed played well. In monetary sense this would be cheaper rather than giving a player guaranteed contract prorated with the remaining games of the season. Lucas has showned he belong to the NBA. Who knows the Rockets might reacquire him by tuesday and that is, if no other team will pick him up.
Why do we need another PG anyway? i don't think we need to sign some free agents... if there is a good deal on the table i will do it (i mean trade), the Rockets needs changes. Q-Rich is now available, maybe we should make an offer...
If you want to talk trade, go to the Trade Thread. Q-Rich has been brought up in there already and I've already stated my reasons why I don't want him in Houston. As for getting a PG, I think it's definitely a need. Right now, we only have Alston as the true PG on the team. Wesley did well filling in, but as he proved against Washington, he's much more effective when he doesn't have to have the ball in his hand. Head has played some point, but he isn't the best ball-handler and isn't good at finding the open man. Having another point guard to spell Alston will surely be a great idea.
