Really nothing to make of it, except Arenas is a clown: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Steve Francis said he would be called "explosive" too if he were allowed to shoot as much as Gilbert Arenas. With a straight face, Arenas replied: "I'd be called a closet case too if I cried about Cuttino Mobley every night."</div> LMAO Arenas just straight clowned Francis. http://fiyastarter.com/fs-pages/fs-sports-nbarank05-11.html
fiya starters?? lol is that even real?? but i think arenas woulda said those kinda funny things though
Naw, It's real. One of my boys back east told me that they were talkin about Arenas on the radio saying it, and that was the proof I was looking for.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Asked if being benched has hurt his confidence, Sebastian Telfair stated "Being benched doesn't bother me at all, really. I'm confident in my game, no matter what happens. I'm from New York, man. I'll bounce back. I'm only 20 years-old." Asked if being replaced by a white guy has hurt his confidence, a glum Telfair added, "Yeah, kinda. Maybe I'm not as good as I thought. You think I should have gone to school?" </div> This one had me laughing too.
lol, as if Francis can shoot and score as well as Arenas, what a clown himself. That was a good one though.
to me francis comparing himself to arenas is more funnier, i mean come on its a superstar/future perenial all star VS. a role player..... francis will never be at the same level arenas is at and plus like all great current players, arenas knows how to get to the line
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting NbaBaller:</div><div class="quote_post">This one had me laughing too.</div> Lol yeah, haha man Gilbert is the man.
Francis isn't nearly as good an outside shooter. If he actually attempted the same number of shots that Arenas did, he'd probably be well before 40% from the field.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting rookie789:</div><div class="quote_post">to me francis comparing himself to arenas is more funnier, i mean come on its a superstar/future perenial all star VS. a role player..... francis will never be at the same level arenas is at and plus like all great current players, arenas knows how to get to the line</div> Have you just started following basketball two days ago? Steve Francis is a role player? Role players are guys like Matt Harpring, DeSagana Diop, or Derek Fisher. Steve Francis is freaking on the same level as those guys? Francis is a former ROY, three-time All-Star, career 20/5/6 guy, and a leader on the court. Arenas is doing great this year but his team isn't winning, the same things Francis has been knocked for. What makes Arenas on such a higher level than Francis? Last year, Francis averaged 21, 6 and 7. Arenas averaged 25, 4, and 5. Is it really that different? Last year was also the year when Francis got the free rein to shoot like Arenas is this year. As for the "getting to the line" crap, Francis had 606 free throw attempts last year in 78 games. Arenas had 640 in 80 games. Where's the supreriority? I don't see it. EDIT: Just one more thing. Perennial All-Star? Dictionary.com lists "perennial" as "Lasting or active through the year or through many years." Last I checked, Gilbert Arenas has had one All-Star appearance, although he's a lock this year. However, just two straight years doesn't make you "lasting through many years".
