<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- Eric Musselman, in his first season as coach of the Sacramento Kings, was arrested on drunken driving charges early Saturday.

He was released from Sacramento County Main Jail not long after his arrest, the Sheriff's Department said.

The arrest came four preseason games into Musselman's stay with the Kings. He was hired by the Kings in June and spent the past two seasons as an assistant with the Memphis Grizzlies. He was fired by Golden State after the 2003-04 season.</div>

So THAT'S why he said he thinks Artest is a great guy! Bahahahahahahahaha

This is priceless! Er, I hope he seeks help and gets himself back on the right track. But it's ironic nonetheless.

    GYM BEFORE PRACTICE:
Artest: So you're the new coach, huh, I was just getting used to Adleman.
Eric: Yeah, pfff, i'm WAY nicer than him.
Artest: you seem a bit cooler than him to be honest.
Eric: Really? you think i'm cool.
Artest: you're pretty down. for a coach that is. with my help though you can be the downest motherf**Kin coach in the league.
Eric: SOLD! SHow me how, Ron Ron!
Artest: first we going out on the town, hit the clubs, maybe get is some trouble.
Eric: man, you're the coolest player i've ever been around. none of my other players invited me to go hang with them.

LATER AT THE CLUB PARKING LOT:
Eric; WOw that was so much fun!
Artest: It was. Man, you a cool ass dude. Shoot, I can't belive i left my car keys at home AGAIN.
Eric; Don't worry I'll give you a ride.
    Artest: you sure?
Eric; yeah, i had what 8 martinis, that's NOTHING. like you said i'm a down ass dude. i can handle my liquor
Artest: you're kind of swaying around a bit bro, like a palm tree or something.
Artest: don't worry i'm kewl, hic, i mean cool.

    MOMENTS LATER - DRIVING:
Artest: yo E-Muss, stay on the road, man, where yo goin?
    watch out for that cow
    Eric: what cow? oh S**T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    BANG
Artest: yo i'm alive thank God, let me get out of here, i don't need any bad press right now, the Maloofs will kick my ass, can you say you were alone in the car
Eric: sure bro I got your back.
    Artest: you're alright, E-Muss!

What do you guys think will happen to him? You think he'll get fired? This is really bad publicity in a time when the Maloofs are trying to show the community that a sports arena is a good thing. I think he's going to be suspended at the very least. If he gets fired I think he'll be replaced by Petrie for a short time and the they'll eventually hire another coach (Adelman? Divac?).

He's was barely over the legal limit, so he'll probably go to a few AA meetings and hold a press conference apologizing for his actions.

What does barely being over the legal limit have to do with it? A DUI is a DUI, the legal system doesn't recognize different levels of intoxication, you're either under the legal limit or not. If he doesn't get punished for this I'll be very surprised, especially since they come down hard on players for stuff like this.

Wrong time for this to happen to Sac, it's bad enough that the dreams of a new arena are fading.

The legal limit is .08, he was at .11, which is barely over. Most people you read about getting DUI's are 3 or 4 times over the legal limit. There's a difference between a little buzzed, and **** faced drunk.

True to that [IMG] This is just another example of why Artest is a bad influence. I just can't wait until he's is the show at halftime, who doesn't want to listen to Tru Warriar?

You can joke about .11 all you want but .08 is there for a reason, because you can never bring back someone who's dead and many people have died from .08. The stupidity is not drinking, I love to drink, its not having a designated driver, especially when you make millions.

Don't talk about things that you know nothing about, it makes you look stupid. Everyone that follows Artest knows that he's actually an excellent team-mate and works extremely hard, it's his competitiveness that got him into trouble in the past.

Many people have also died from .00. My point is let's not overreact here and throw Musselman under the bus for making a stupid mistake. If he had killed or injured someone and intoxication was the reason, then yes he deserves a suspension and I wouldn't be opposed to him being fired from it.

From reading some of the post articles, it sounds like Musselman isn't much of a drinker, so he probably didn't realize he was past the legal limit. I think you can reach .08 after just two beers on an empty stomach.

I'm not justifying his irresponsibility, but I also didn't agree with the poster who said he should be fired.

Don't talk about things I don't know about? I know Artest is a good teammate, he's the whole reason the Kings made the playoffs last year. He brings intensity and the defensive mindset to the Kings. I live 100 miles north of Sacramento, I see tons of Kings games, I know what I'm talking about. Artest is a great player, but you got to control your emotions. Competitiveness is a good thing, but when it makes you punch someone, especially a fan, there's something wrong with that. Your not even playing against them! They're just rooting for your opponent, you can't let them get in your head. He has some anger issues, not too much competitiveness, you can't snap when someone talks trash or shoves you. If you can't keep your cool, you've let the other person win because that's what they're going for. I'm sure Artest pisses people off like Bowen does by grabbing jerseys, playing physical D, or even talking trash, just Artest couldn't take much of that a few years ago. I really believe he's more mature now and understands that concept.

If someone threw a cup of beer at you on the street, how would you react? I know that I don't have anger problems and I certainly would have done the same as him. I'm not saying he doesn't have a crazy past, but things get blown way out of proportion with him.
As a side note to the "grabbing jerseys, playing physical D", I believe it was Kobe that said Bowen plays dirty defense, and he doesn't play real defense like Artest defends fairly. I could be mixing something up here, but it was something like that.

You can't be more wrong. Kobe said he enjoys it when people play dirty D. He is yet to complain about some cheating on D. Even when Raja "flip-flop" Bell clotheslined him, he said he enjoys physical D.
