<div class="quote_poster">Rudeezy Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Dunleavy with 12 points on 5 of 7 shooting. If only the guy was consistent. We just need to make it to the 2nd half so we can have ellis and biedrins back in the game.</div> Dun's probably one of the reasons why we're still in this game. But playing him at center? We need POB. The other team can just waltz down the middle and Dunleavy can't stop it. Also, we can't get the rebounds because we're too small.
This scoreboard is up to date: http://www.sportsline.com/nba/gamecenter/l...20061114_TOR@GS But damn, the rebound and ft differential is huge. And the other stat that I do not like to see is Davis with 2-9 from three.
1.) I think POB is active -- it looks like he is in uniform on the bench, so I don't know why the hell he didn't get in the game against Bosh and Bargnani... 2.)LOL -- Bob and Jim were raving over Dunleavy's 15 point half, but dude! he was eaten alive in there trying to play like a big man. WTF? That defense was fukin atrocious -- seriously, even Pietrus is much, MUCH better on Bosh than Dunleavy. Sure Dun scored some points but he gave up at least as many. I say put POB in there or let fukin Foyle foul out -- I mean what are you saving him for? This small-ball ain't going to work without Monta in there, and it sure as HELL won' work if your anchor is Dunleavy. You've gotta have at least 1 guy who can rebound or box out.
Biedrins got two important stuffs at the rim and he made both free throws!!!! That's what happens when we got two dribble penetrating guards that can pass and shoot some (point guard and shooting guard) and inside presence (Biedrins). We put Ike or POB in there they are going to be badass from the right side of the post! Richardson can fill in at SF and he'll be awesome when he gets healthy. Mullin better clean up this Dun/Murph thing quickly because no way were they our starters for the next six years on a team looking to get better defensively and inside the paint. Those guys are great for bench, but man they aren't starters IMO. Big guys have to play like big guys unless their offense/defense game is like Dirk or Garnett. If they aren't that kind of "tweener" they belong on the bench IMO because it's too hard to make them fit when they have such odd skills for their position. It's like trying to find a huge point guard to play next to Allen Iverson.
Yep, with him (and Monta) in there it all makes sense. Take out Beans and move Dunleavy to the 5 (like in the first half) and this will be a laugher (in a bad way). Beans avoiding his 4th foul right now is the most important element in bay area sports tonight!! No fouls!!
You know you love that rebound and putback by Biendrins after Fred Jones offensive foul! edit: You know you love the block on Bargnani!! edit: and the boards!!

LOL @ McLeod for trying to alley oop to Dunleavy. BTW Biedrins is a monster on the offensive glass tonight and he's getting huge blocks at the rim. Damn dude. He is changing the game, even though he is not a scorer. If he does score double digits consistently on his own some day, he'll be top 5 center for sure.

I hope we do not jinx Biedrins. He could be a Samuel Dalembert for this month. We need him to be Nets era Kmart. Every running team needs a big dude that can defend play above the rim and play above the rim, a franchise pure point, a secondary point, and a wing scorer that can fill the stat sheet plus an okay center. Everyone should be able to play defense and rebound. I think Baron, Ellis, Jrich/Pietrus, Ike/Biedrins, Biedrins/Murphy is our lineup. Those roles to me make sense. Baron/Ellis is a speedy backcourt like Kidd/Kittles. Jrich/Pietrus can be Richard Jefferson. Ike n Beans could be Kmart. Biedrins/Murphy could be Jason Collins. Of course, we need to find our own team, but it needs to fit inside/outside attack, otherwise we need really darn good isolation type players that can shoot from anywhere like Run TMC or the Dallas Big Three. Man I'm hyped up if we can get this salary issue squared away. We don't want a repeat of the Gilbert Arenas debacle. I would have kept Arenas over Richardson any day of the week.
I'm catching the game on the radio... all I'm hearing is "Biedrins!". I wish I could watch the game! I hope it goes on the net.
Biedrins is pretty active. He's really scrappy like Eduardo Najera or Brian Cardinal, except he's 7 feet tall and pretty darn quick in the feet, especially moving laterally. Plus he's got a giant wingspan. I can't get hyped enough about his physical skill. He supposedly can almost touch the top of the backboard, but I don't believe it. I think that might have been the Yi JianLian rumor where marketing/media guys overblow his athleticism by saying he can do 360 free throw line dunks and almost touch the top of the backboard. I'd have to see that for myself. Beans has the same standing vertical as Bosh according to that one sports illustrated article coverage of the 2004 training camp. Beans has a 33 inch standing vertical or something. But he never shows it off http://www.justbball.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18415 (Official 2004 draft thread)://http://www.justbball.com/forums/sho...4 draft thread) I can't find the article, but I found discussion on how athletic Biedrins is. Trust me, he rated high for ceiling potential based on his physical skills. Nevermind, found it! <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Upside: He's unlike any Euro I've ever seen. He's long (7-foot with a 7-1? wingspan), has great lateral quickness, is an explosive leaper with a 34? inch vertical jump (Chris Bosh and Carmelo Anthony each have a 33-inch verticals, by way of comparison) and ... drum roll please ... Biedrins prefers to play in the paint, where most 7-footers belong. He's a pure four whose specialty is defense, shot blocking and energy -- not real staples of the Euros who have been flooding the draft the past few years. His body is ripped, and he has a strong core that allows him to play in the post. He bench presses 185 pounds around 15 times. Only one big guy in Chicago (Jason Keep) topped that in combine testing last year.</div>link

He's pretty reserved when it comes to his athleticism, he only jumps as high as he needs to. I remember hearing he had like a 34" vert or something.
Player of the game once again was Biedrins. The guy had a great stat line and did so much more that didnt show up in the box score.

He's not exactly Kenyon Martin/Amare Stoudamire fierce when it comes to dunking on somebody. The only memorable poster I can remember was his seal on Michael Ruffin and he dunked on top of him. I also remember he used to be in Stromile Swift mode (dunking every ball he got), but he's a better player than just trying to dunk everything all the time. He's also become a lot more efficient than a lot of those "style" over "substance" players. I mean what is his fg% by now? He makes everything it seems. We need to have high % scoring to balance things out if guys like Murphy, Dunleavy, Baron launching shots. BTW I just laughed so hard now. My brother, who barely watches the Warriors said, how much did they pay Foyle????? Man... Another reason to not give rookie GMs with alcohol problems any salary room. They going to blow it on something stupid because of their weird hunches. I'm just glad we beat the Raptors. It'd be embarassing if we lost. And it looked like we were going to lose in the 2nd-3rd quarters... Biedrins + Ellis goes out, Warriors momentum get slowed down when Dunleavy and Foyle go in. Dunleavy had a good game, but the lack of size really kept the Raptors in it...
