Low scoring game because both teams didnt share the ball.

    Houston : 9 ast.
    Dallas : 11 ast.

    - Bad decision by JVG to waste our last timeout. We could have advanced the ball at the end for a clean look at a 3.

    - JVG should have played Bonzi in the 3rd (when Dallas went on a run), but chose to play him and Tmac at the END of the 3rd

    - Head tried to be a hero at the end. Not a good shot.

    - need to make FTs, would have won if Tmac shot his percent

Yea I questioned his timeout during the freethrow (if i remember correctly). Poor decision making by Tmac, Head, and Rafer. Sometimes I question what the hell Rafer is doing (like trying to run inbetween 2 mav defenders on a defensive rebound isntead of around, or shooting that one quick after an offensive rebound). Tmac also had his share of mistakes as well. I have no clue what Head was thinking.

Btw, Tmac has been playing pretty badly lately...don't know whats going on. At least he played pretty good def on dirk in the fourth quarter.

Let's face it ya'll......Avery Johnson is a better coach than JVG. Last nite, he simply outcoached JVG and had a better strategy. Tmac can't be superman every nite. We need players to attack like the Mavs do. The sad part about it is we DO have players to attack but JVG doesn't know how to incorporate them in the offense. Snyder didn't play and Bonzi only had six shots. There is no way Bonzi should only have six shots in a game like this. JVG just doesn't adjust as good as other coaches[IMG]

On a side note, it seems like JVG has too much trust in certain players and too little in others. I understand Skip & Head's played well. But every once in awhile we should try something a little different.

Its funny how JVG stares at the opponent's bench after taking a timeout. [IMG]

I'm with you theres no excuse for a NBA coach to be out of timeouts in a game like this. I could've told you it was gona come own to the last possesion. What really pisses me off is the fact that we continue to take 3's and perimeter shots!!! I really wish JVG would have ran some plays down low for Bonzi at the end of the game.

Yea the Timeout and the fact that Bonzi DID NOT PLAY the entire 3rd quater after a good first half, disappointed me.

I recall a few games where Head ran the fast break well and we had a running game going. We played well in the running game. We have quick guys. I guess JVG thinks it too risky...

Exactly. The Rockets do this every game, go on a dry spell where they can't hit a bucket. The fact JVG refuses to adjust his style of offense baffles me. You have Bonzi & Snyder both sittin on the bench while players like Josh Howard kill us. There is no reason Chuck Hayes should get more minutes than Bonzi or Snyder. Funny thing is, I've been sayin this over & over before last night. The Rockets need to counter Dallas & Phoenix's quickness. You can't rely on Tmac to be superman every game. As a NBA coach, it's only LOGICAL that you play ur most athletic players against athletic teams. Why JVG refuses to play Bonzi or Snyder is the worst mistake as a NBA coach.

Think about this one, remember last year when JVG kept saying that we were small at the 2 and 1 and how we needed to get more athletic and bigger? Well why the hell is luther in at the 2 agaist Stack in crunch time?[IMG] JVG is a reactive coach he counters moves but doesn't exploit his advantages so that other teams have to react to our lineups.

Avery > JVG...how Snyder doesn't see the floor baffles me, and how tmac doesn't even touch the ball on a couple of possesions towards the end of the game baffles me also..............

yes I gave her the finger once during the game and the rowdies taunted
"2,4,6,8....Dallas women look like men" as her and her friends were exiting........another guy came in a dallas maverick warm up and he looked just like Josh Howard, so he got that taunt all night long.......

It kind of sucks that Dallas beat us at our own game, but I can be patient. Even if it takes 20 years.

<div class="quote_poster">Umair Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Dang man. We had this game in the bag till the second half. We did a good job of not blowing our lead, but we had to close them out if we played good all throughout. Head thinks he is Mr. Big Shot but he isn't. He is not suppose to be the hero. He should've passed it out to McGrady, there was enough time for McGrady to get a good look. Head you sucked!!! We lost yet another game we had a big lead in. But our defense was pretty good though. We held Mavs to 80 points. That's amazing. But when you play good throughout the whole game and don't let the other team get big leads on you, you have to get a win.</div>

Dude, one missed clutch shot and he sucks. I hope you were just blowing some steam off. I know that game was winnable to, but we just choked on both D and offense in the final minute.

Avery is a good coach, but I don't think this Rockets team even needs that good a coach to get far. Some people act like Rudy Tomjanovich is god, but I think you could have put Isaiah Thomas as the coach of those two teams and we still would have won it all. Well that's an extreme example, but I think you get my point.

And yeah, when Snyder wasn't in the game by the 3rd quarter, I assumed he was on the injured list or something, because of Jake Tsakalidis. Why the hell didn't JVG put Snyder in when we needed someone to take it to the basket and/or get to the line!?

I hope JVG doesn't go too crazy with his 8 man rotation.

Thats very classy of you. Swearing to a women.

This is whats wrong with the NBA today. You can't go to an away game without getting abuse for rooting for your team. It's sad. I hear about these stories all the time in every city. When I have been to games in europe the away fans make alot of noise which adds to the atmosphere.

I fail to see whats wrong with cheering loud for your team. They might as well when they take the time to make the trip.

^did you hear her on T.V.? It was so damn annoying. If I was at the game, Dallas just scored, that woman started screaming reall really loud, and I had a drink in my had full of ice, who knows what would have happened. It's provoking.

I went to home opener against Dallas, and screamed out DIRK SUCKS when he was at the line and then some woman who was a Dallas fan sitting a few rows below me, said YOU SUCK!

So yeah, it goes both ways.

I like how he isn't afraid of taking big shots but he was an idiot for trying to be a hero and take the game-winning shot. When I said, he sucked, I didn't mean it as in Luther Head sucks, I meant for that game he sucked because he ruined our chances of winning the game at the end. Yes, our defense and offense was crap in that final minute of the game, but look at this. There were 11 seconds left on the clock and we had a chance to take the lead. Why did Luther try to be the hero and take the shot. We had more than enough time to get McGrady the ball and the shot for the win. I'd rather take a longer jumper from McGrady for the win then give Luther a <u>mid-range</u> jumper for the win. Luther had made a bad mistake at the end which kind of cost us the game. It wasn't all his mistake that we lost at the end, but it was his fault a little.

As long as the people that taunt are funny, I mostly don't care. It is mostly in good fun (unless the fans start being vulgar, or act way too classless depending on the situation).

I'm not saying that they don't have the right to cheer, but you better believe if you come in "our" arena cheering for another team all while talking noise that you will get the treatment.....I'm sorry but I have no mercy......

    EDIT

And if you know anything about the cities of Houston and Dallas then you would know that we HATE each other.....I have older friends who tell me how Cowboy/Steeler fans used to get jumped when they'd come to the Astrodome cheering for Dallas/Pittsburgh when the Oilers were still here...it could be a lot worst....

You obviously didn't watch the game. She was creaming so loud and shrilly it was overpowering the announcers on TNT (almost lol). Fans have the right to cheer for whoever, but when they are being that obnoxious, somebody's got to shut them up or taunt them back - man or woman.
