All I have to say is... Golden State Warrior fans are bomb. They stick by their team like real fans should and they're finally getting what they deserve. I'm hopping on the Warrior bandwagon before it gets too full
So I typed up this really long post last night and then my internet shut down so here's the short version. I'm pumped and happy they beat Dallas. However, they cannot become complacent and just enjoy the success they had in the first round. They need to keep this going as long as they can because I honestly believe that nobody can beat them right now. They have all the confidence in the world so I'm really hoping they can take down either the Rockets or Jazz. Luckily, that series is going to seven games so either team could be a little worn down. Hopefully we play well in the second round and keep this thing going! By the way, I've decided I'm getting NBA Full Court so I can watch all of the Warriors games next season. I never get a chance to watch any of the games since I'm on the East coast but now I can!
Big time congrats to this Warriors team. There have been some good stories this post season so far, but this one really takes the cake. Dirk was a ghost last night and Baron pulled out even with his injury to still hammer on the Mavs. These Warriors play very well together and it seems as though you guys have found your team. There could be some nice additions in the off-season, but this is the step in the right direction. I'm also glad the team never moved Pietrus.
Congrats on advancing and absolutely dominating the Mavs last night. I'm glad to see the playoff excitement back in the Bay Area. My dad has been rubbing every moment of this in my face. He's been a season ticket holder for decades now and hasn't been this excited about the team since Sleepy Floyd dropped 50 on the Lakers.
Lol Warriors owning Dallas makes up for my Heat losing. Haha, Warriors are such an exciting team to watch, congratulations to the Warriors on the greatest upset in NBA history. I think every one thats not in Dallas or Charles Barkley is excited the Warriors are back in the playoffs and they destroyed #1 Dallas.
Congrats to the Warriors on the biggest upset in NBA history. Its not what the Mavs did wrong but its what you guys did right that got you the victory. I'm the last person on earth who would tell you that the Warriors had any chance of pulling off the upset. I apologize to the guy I criticized for picking the Warriors I was totally wrong. Its a long shot of making the finals but definitely possible after knocking out one of the best ever nba records. Wow if you would of told me that Dallas and Miami would play a combined 10 games in the playoffs I would of said you were crazy.

<div class="quote_poster">AnimeFANatic Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">True. I have to deal with bandwagon fans on campus trying to talk "knowledge" to me about Warriors, 80% of which is all completely wrong. But if they give us the advantage in home court, I'm all for it. And then people see me sport my Baron jersey and probably think I'm some bandwagon fan... Gotta take the good with the bad I guess. But the good is definitely GOOD! </div> The absolute worst was last year when Nelson got hired, two idiots from Dallas and Tornto called me stupid for thinking that Biedrins would get more playing time than Diogu and Murphy. They called Biedrins a horrible defender, slow going to the hoop, and they said Murphy was a better defender.
I couldn`t be anymore happy for you guys. It`s sweet seeing a huge upset, it makes the playoffs just more interesting. Good luck in the next round! Charles feels saltay.
lol. I literally could not sleep at all last night after watching this game. I was so happy. The game was like a fairy tale, every single fan in the arena was so emotional, the players were so emotional. J. Rich's dunk to pretty much seal the game was unreal
I love reading all the victory articles <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">OAKLAND, Calif. – He eventually just folded himself into a chair at the end of the bench, three or four standing teammates shielding Dirk Nowitzki from the carnage on the court, from the final minutes of this humiliation. With the season up in smoke, Mr. Would-Be MVP sat on a 2-for-13 shooting night, a nothing effort in a game that meant everything. The relentless thunderclaps of noise were raining down like Stephen Jackson three-pointers, lifting these Golden State Warriors to new heights, new territory, just as they were burying the Dallas Mavericks into an incomprehensibly early grave. It would be a celebration for most of the second half, the game no longer in doubt, what with Nowitzki seemingly incapable of throwing the ball into San Francisco Bay. It was a forever night for this franchise, these fans. Thirteen long, miserable years of waiting for something like this: a 111-86 playoff victory to give the Warriors the series, 4-2, and give them perhaps the greatest upset in NBA history. </div> http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=ArX7...=yhoo&type=lgns

But that dunk off the Piertus bounce pass really put the stamp on the evening.

Just little recap for this series. Davis: 25.0 pts / 54% fg / 45.5% 3fg / 77.1% ft / 6.2 reb / 5.7 ast / 1.83 stl The man. Please be healthy till the end of PO Jackson: 22.8 pts / 45.2% fg / 47.5% 3fg / 79.1% ft / 4.5 reb / 3.7 ast / 2 stl You may have a good argument that Jackson was as good as Davis, because not only he put 22.8 pts, he really shut Dirk down. Wasn't he supposely be a deadweight for Dunleavy/Murphy trade? Richardson: 19.5 pts / 51.1% fg / 34.1% 3fg / 66.7% ft / 6.8 reb / 2.0 ast / 1.33 stl Richardson might not shine in that series, but he had solid series, especially after being invisible at game 1 and 2. Barnes: 10.2 pts / 45.1% fg / 40.0% 3fg / 77.8% ft / 5.5 reb / 3.0 ast / 1 stl Barnes definitely have Fisher's spirit in him. But, without him, I am not sure we could have won the series, especially when Harrington went MIA. Biedrins: 6.7 pts / 71.4% fg / 55.6% ft / 5.2 reb / 1 blk Made huge contributions at game 3 and 6, and neutralized both Diop and Dampier. Ellis: 8.2 pts / 39.6% fg / 78.6% ft / 1 stl / 1.2 ast Monta had his moment in one quarter, but he was largely ineffective for some reason. And, I thought he would have a good series with his speed and skill. Expect better outcome in series 2. Pietrus: 7.0 pts / 30.6% fg / 21.1% 3fg / 84.2% ft / 5.3 reb Pietrus also had his moments here and there, but he was also ineffective as well. Somebody needs to remind Pietrus that this is his contract year, and tell what happened to J. James. Harrington: 4.5 pts / 25.8% fg / 12.5% 3fg / 58.8% ft / 5.2 reb Weeee... Lost confidence in the game one and never came close to regain it. Looking for his return asap. To my surprise, Warriors only had 6 quarters when they outscored Dallas by 5 pts or more, and Mavs had 4. And, Warriors only had 1 quarter where they outscored Dallas by 10+ pts (21 pts), and Dallas had 2 (10 and 11). So, even though Warriors pretty much dominated match ups, Dallas still hung tough throughout the series. Of course, it's bit ironic to say that 1st seed team didn't get blown out too much by 8th seed team, but that has been the case in this series. This team will be a nightmare for coaches with structured offense system, because we jack up ill-advised 3 pts awful a lot, never learned the meaning of controlling the clock, half court offense, or shot clock, gamble awful a lot in defense, and two or 3 people always follow the ball like hungry wolves in defense. But, this team has been winning like this in last 1/4 of the season + 1st rounder. I want to see how far this 'chaotic' team can go...
<div class="quote_poster">Kwan1031 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I want to see how far this 'chaotic' team can go...</div> D'Antoni describes his team as 'organized chaos'. The Warriors however are like... 'unorganized chaos'... but in a good way haha.
Yeah, sometimes I wonder how this team could go 20-7 with this offense system. We jack up 3 pts when it's 1-3, hands on shooter's face, or with 18 seconds shot clock left. To make things worse, this team should not grab rebounds to save their lives. But, we are rolling anyway with this free flowing style. I think Nelson's offense book probably has one page with one word, "Run". But obviously, he knows better...

Actually, Nellie and his staff put a lot of work into each game. Smart and the assistants do a lot of film watching, strategizeing, etc, while Nellie uses his lifetime of coaching intuition to assimilate all the data into a simplified game plan (as I'm sure you heard on the radio interview). The thing is, Nellie's no dummy. He knows what works, what will work with given players and given situations. He is a master thinker in the moment, adapting and making changes on the fly. But he also knows that his players aren't master thinkers, and that giving them a lot of complex sets and plays will only take them out of the "zone" by making them think too much (see Mike Montgomery). He doesn't want his players to do too much thinking on the court -- he wants them to play, to get in the zone and tune out time and space. So, he does the hard thinking for them, and come game time, he gives them a simple, yet well-thought out plan to make it easy on his players. It's zen.
