I don't know about you guys, but I am very disappointed with this pick.
We could have chosen Tiago, Fazekas, McRoberts or even Glen Davis.

Are we looking to trade or something?

I heard the Kings were really high on him and were looking to trade into the late 1st or early 2nd for him. Maybe you guys are working on a deal with the Kings?

I think you guys should of took Splitter or McRoberts, even Byars would of been better here. You guys needed a PF and Battier isn't exactly young, so getting someone he could groom would of helped.

I really hope thats the case. We have too many point guards.

They resisted taking a slow big...That was good

But why get an undersized guard...to replace JLIII if he gets traded?
Oregon...I haven't seen this kid play but unless he comes out like CP3...it was definitly an unexpected pic.....Oh Morey....you had such a good start getting rid of Juwan for M.James

    Skip/M.James/L.Head/JLiII/VSpan/Suras contract/A.Brooks
    Something has to happen...right

WTF is going on???? We are a team that is point guard heavy but still without a legitmate point guard. WIth Mcroberts and Splitter on the board wut is morey doing? Even Marcus WIlliams pick would be better.

There has to be a trade behind close doors that's going to happen. I for some reason see Rafer Alston being traded real soon.

Sounds good. A scoring guard that can play good defense. He will thrive under Adelman.

    Yao/Hayes
    Battier/Novak/Reed
    T-Mac/Battier
    Bonzi/Head/Snyder
    Alston/James/Brooks/Lucas/Span/Sura

    EDIT:
We do need a trade involving one or two of these guards though. Brooks, Snyder, Bonzi, and Spanoulis for Ron Artest? Yeah Right.

BS, Portland took Rudy Fernandez with PHO #24 pick...they keep screwing us over. Then Utah took Morris Almond who also looks good. We probably would have taken one of these guys if they didn't get picked up right before our pick.

Apparently chron reports that Rockets are keeping Aaron brooks. This might mean we are looking to trader Rafer, Vspan, or JL3.

Dude this is screwed up. We get yet another midget point guard. We were suppose to go for power forward which was our need or maybe an athletic wing I suggested, but another PG? If there is no trade behind this, then we have to get rid of lucas, span, and rafer for a PF. We should've taken alando tucker or even fazekas/mcroberts. This is screwed up man. No tradinh up or anything. Btw, we also got some Aussie guy. I can't believe I just waisted 4 and a half hours straight on this draft.

    1. I question the pick because we dont need another PG.
    2. I question the pick because he was NOT the best player available at the time.

    WTF is going on..................

I for one am one of the most optimistic people on this board so here is my take on this years picks. WTFFFFF was morey thinking I saw this pick at Bjs with my girlfriend at her birthday dinner and cussed out loud. This is ridiculous. Mcroberts could have been a wonderful back up. We miss u carrol Dawson

I don't like the pick but if we found another tony parker. A point guard that can be a third scorer as well as run the point well for many years to come i believe he made the right pick. This signifies the end of alston with the rockets. So thats where the PF will come from.

I wouldn't overreact over this. Drafting that late is a total complete crapshoot anyways. Any real improvement would probably have to come through trades or free agency, and there's still time for that.

Adelman apparently likes Brooks, and for now that's good enough for me. Let's at least reserve judgement on these picks until after the summer leagues.

Brooks is a gutsy player. I watched a lot of Oregon games and Brooks is ice cold in the clutch. He also has an insane vertical leap to compensate for his height.

I'm not sure the specifics on why Houston would draft him, but he adds speed to their ball club off the bench. The offensive pace is going to change under Adelman, and I'm sure he'll have a small-ball unit to resort to when he needs an offensive spark.

I remember the Rockets killing the Lakers in both games last year when they went to a small lineup. Their guards were unconcious and scrambling all over the court creating chaos on the Lakers offense and defense.

Maybe Adelman saw something there he could work with, and having Brooks lead that unit makes sense.

Agreed. Point guard definitely isn't the greatest need right now but so wasn't shooting guard when Luther Head was picked two years ago. At the 26th pick you're unlikely to get a player nowadays who can play significant minutes in the first year or two.

I also won't rule out a trade involving Alston or maybe even Adelman moving Mike James to shooting guard to play small ball.

Man after watching some tape/clips on this guy he looks like a great pick for us. Even though point guard wasn't the biggest need he can definetly improve it. If he can do what he did in college for us with his quickness and speed we have a TJ Ford/Tony Parker with a jump shot.

lol, if no trade happens though, this is probably the worst pick in the draft. You guys could've taken players like Tiaggo Splitter, Josh McRoberts, Glen Davis at your pick, but ended up with another PG lol.

Yeah but if Brooks can be a Tony Parker/TJ Ford caliber player or even near that the Houston Rockets have a steal. No matter what the immediate need is.
