Lakers trade to Pacers: Jordan Farmar Lamar Odom Vlad Radmanovic Kwame Brown A 2009 1st round pick Pacers trade to Lakers: Mike Dunleavy Jermaine O'Neal (with the assurances that you can sign him to an extension) Line ups Indiana Tinsley/Diener/Farmar/Greene-released? Daniels/Williams/Rush/Owens-released? Granger/Radmanovic/Graham-released? Odom/Diogu/Foster Murphy/Brown/Harrison That cuts their payroll and gives them more flexibility once Kwame Brown is off of the books. Plus it allows them to be more uptempo and play pressure defense--something Jim O'Brien is known for. Los Angeles Fisher/Crittenton/Vujanic Kobe/Evans/Karl-released? Dunleavy/Walton O'Neal/Turiaf/Cook Bynum/Mihm This gives the Lakers one of the deepest front line's in the league and clears room for Crittenton to develop as a point guard. Dunleavy seems to be someone who would do well in the triangle offense since he really can't create too many high percentage shots on his own. Although this deal would put the Lakers in cap hell long term (if they expect to keep Bynum) it should make them competitive enough to challenge for home court in the first round. Seems like a win-win deal. Thoughts?

Seems like a win-win deal. Thoughts?</div> It seems like a decent trade, I don't mind Dunleavy's huge contract since we'll be in cap hell for the next couple of seasons anyways. I'm still hoping the franchise AKA Jimmy Buss will realize Andrew Bynum will not be the next big thing and trade him away, instead of Lamar Odom for Jermaine O'Neal. I'm really hoping to see a trio of Kobe Bryant, Lamar Odom, and Jermaine O'Neal competing in the west. Andrew Bynum is still years away from reaching his full potential, and it's ridiculous to choose him over Lamar, a proven player, if we're trying to win now. I also don't think the Pacers will accept a deal without Bynum or Crittenton in a package. I don't think the package your proposing for the Pacers will interest them at all. They don't get any young pieces in the trade, and end up with two large contracts in Lamar Odom and Vladamir Radmanovic. Jordan Farmar is young, but doesn't have the same amount of potential as that of Andrew Bynum or Javaris Crittenton. But whatever, I'm hoping to god Mitch can finally pull off a deal that will land us another superstar to pair with Kobe. Like I said before, my faith in the Laker's front office is at an alltime low. I will not be surprised at all if Jermaine O'Neal gets traded to New Jersey
words from Bird <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">?In response to Jermaine O?Neal?s published comments today regarding a trade, we have stated repeatedly that if we can make our team better through a trade, we will do so," Bird said in a statement released by the team. "Jermaine has become an All-Star player with the Indiana Pacers and in any discussions regarding him or any of our other players, the expectations for the franchise and our fans is to receive fair market value in return if a trade is to be considered. ?Jermaine has worked out very hard this summer while rehabilitating his knee after surgery. We believe under Jim O?Brien that our team as a whole and Jermaine as a player can be successful. You never know what will happen, but for now Jermaine is an Indiana Pacer.? </div> http://www.nba.com/pacers/news/bird_oneal_070806.html
Well, lets see what Mitch can do with this new info... Let me tel you all, Do Not get your hope up. Mitch is not goning to do ****. Mitch and Jim Buss are going to want to keep little Andrew, after the deal is on the table. They are probably going to say NO, in the last second, just as they did for the trade for Kidd. I hope they prove me wrong.
<div class="quote_poster">shapecity Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">From my understanding about potential Jermaine O'Neal deals, the Lakers want to acquire him without trading Andrew Bynum. The Lakers are willing to take back either Dunleavy Jr. or Murphy in order to keep Bynum. The Lakers would be sending out Odom + Kwame + fillers. Another rumor is the Lakers shipping out Bynum ONLY if the Pacers also take Radman as part of the package and send Granger over to the Lakers. Bynum is close to untouchable at this point from the Lakers front office point of view. It could just be a ploy to boost up Bynum's stock, or they might really feel Bynum is going to meet expectations. Should be interesting to see how this plays out.</div> That all makes a lot of sense IMO. Indy definitely doesn't want to have a trio of overpaid, soft SF/PFs in Dunleavy, Murphy, and Odom so if Odom's going to Indy one of them has to be going out. Ultimately I don't think this deal can get done without Bynum, theres just not enough there to entice Indy to make a trade. I would think that a deal would have to be like the one Gators posted; Bynum, Kwame, fillers (Evans?) and Crittenton/Farmar/1st round pick(s). If I'm Indy I want a nice young big included in any J.O. deal. I don't want a soft, inconsistent, spaz-tastic tweener forward on a max contract, especially now when I already have Murphy, Dunleavy, Granger, Ike, S. Williams. I'd also demand Kwame's expiring deal, and one of the L's young PGs. Lakers don't sound like they're willing to do that though, which is understandable since its a lot to give for an injury prone 20/10 guy but at some point they'll have to commit to either rebuilding or going for it all now. They can't keep walking the line like they are now. If they're going to go Celtics-style and go balls out for the immediate future then getting JO is key since guys like that aren't available often, if they're going to go with a youth movement then they should probably look into trading Kobe now since he doesn't want to be around when the team sucks for the next few years.
<div class="quote_poster">GatorsowntheNCAA Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Indiana won't want to trade within their conference, IMO. If JO gets dealt it will be to a Western Conference team. I think the best deal for both sides is Bynum, Crittenton, Kwame, Sasha, Evans, and the Lakers 1st for this year. Lakers get a trio of Kobe, JO, Odom. Pacers get 2 young players with massive potential and cap space to get under the luxury tax(although they will still have to do other deals to actually have cap space to spend). Here's the RealGm trade checker with my proposed deal. ---------------- Successful Trade Scenario Congratulations on a successful trade. Due to Indiana and L.A. Lakers being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Indiana and L.A. Lakers had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. ^Thats the deal i will do Bynum Farmar Kwame and Vlad for JO.That will give us a great trio of Mr.Brayant/Odom/O'neal.But then again i don't think the Lakers want to give up Bynum.
Come On MITCH!!! Oneal has said publicly he would like to come here.. Now lets get this deal done! Trade Bynum! DO IT!
Jermaine O'Neal: "Kobe's been criticized unfairly. He's in a 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' situation. If he passes too much, they say he's not shooting. If he shoots, he's called selfish. He can go out and score 50 and lose, but if you don't take your shots, you're going to lose anyway. Everybody handles situations differently, and he handled the situation the best that he could. All in all, he wants to put out a team that can win. When you get into your 11th year, your body begins to wear down. You see the window of opportunity closing fast. I understand exactly what he's saying. That's what I told my team. That's why it's best for me to move on." Preach it
I better hope that came out of JO's mouth. I don't want to get my hopes up because Mitch is too busy with his wand.

I think, he will go to the Nets. Thorn will give up his own mother for JO, and Lakers management, well I don't know what they will give up.
This looks really good! Almost the same, but story from ESPN, read all of it. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">While standing at midcourt Sunday, Jermaine O'Neal is feted by kids in purple-and-gold jerseys, mobbed by media, and wooed by celebrities like Brandy and Snoop Dogg. Man, if he gets traded to LA, it will the end of the world in LA. Good line-up of Fisher, Kobe, Odom, O'Neal. I think it could go far and become a contender.
So we're actually going to offer Andrew Bynum? Let's get this one done! If New Jersey steals away Jermaine O'Neal, Mitch better not be seen anywhere near the streets of Los Angeles, or California for that matter

It's like giving Mitch cheat answers on a test and still fails.

You and Mamba, waiting.
A deal at least involving both Bynum and Farmar will do you have to throw in Kwame Cook and more guys.I doubt Nets could steal JO from us.
