I listed all underclassmen that I thought would possibly come out this year. There are usually more underclassmen than the number I listed that come out in the draft every year.

This isn't the top 50 college players. It's top 50 draft prospects. Slaton is a sophomore. He's not eligible to come out. Sydney Rice is a redshirt sophomore which means he can come out.

Ray Rice misses the list for me right now. I think he's very talented, but not top 50. He's in my top 10 backs, but not top 5.</div>
I agree i think next year he will be one of the top 5 backs in the country though and maybe even after this year we will be talking about him as one of the best RB's in college football.

That's a joke....USF barely beat Fla. International 21-20. FIU is one of the worst teams in D-IA football. There are are D-IAA teams that could beat FIU by a larger margin. Rutgers should bowl over them.

I'm not very high on Henne right now. In my opinion the 4 guys above him on that list are THE players on their teams. Where as Henne is the only good QB but if you take Mike Hart out of Michigan, Henne probably struggles. Plus I believe Henne is a lock to return to Michigan for another year.

The fab 4 are all but a lock pending injuries but after that it's wide open.

Beck from BYU has a lot of tools to climb some draft boards. He'd be another guy to watch.

Like I said before in this post, that 5th spot is a battle between 3 players right now. Ainge, Henne, and Kevin Kolb out of Houston. I think that Kolb might have the best features of a QB out of the 3 and I actually like him more than the other two, but Henne has impressed me in the past few weeks. His production is actually better than Brady Quinn's over their respective careers.

Beck is fighting injury right now. There's two Becks at BYU and I don't believe they're brothers either. John Beck is the starter. Jason Beck is the backup. John is a 3-year starter and was impressive last season. Here's my issue with BYU QB's....are they just a product of a system? Only Steve Young ever developed into much. BYU has always been known for big passing numbers. Ty Detmer has been a very good backup in his career, but never could make it as a starter. He's one of the leading passers of in NCAA Football history. I know I shouldn't project a prospect based on the past success of past players from his college at his position, but QB is one position where that's hard to ignore. Could OU's system ever produce consistently great QBs? Spurrier's fun and gun? I mean how many busts from his system have we seen? Texas Tech's? Those guys don't even make teams most of the time. Beck is a top 10 QB prospect for sure....I just can't bring myself to go any further with it.

When I wrote that list, I was in a Chad Henne loving mood....if I had to rewrite it now...I'd put Kolb at the top. Can you tell how much I'm waivering on deciding who to put 5th? I could take the cheap way out like Kiper does sometimes and put a 5a, 5b, and 5c....but I won't let myself.

I think Ainge is the most overrated QB on that list. He had an awful year last year and he hasn't come up big in big games. I think that'll be his knack and I would put Henne, Beck, Kolb ahead of him and several others.

I don't think the college one goes to will be in issue in terms of how the past players have faired in the NFL. I look at Chad Johnson. Basing off of Florida WR's he would go undrafted but went in round 2 because he had good combine numbers and was a good prospect.

I like Kolb as well and I think he'll be in the running with Beck. Ainge in my opinion will struggle throughout this year and won't put in a good showing come combine time. I actually expect him to remain in school this year as his best days are in college and not the NFL.

Ainge struggled against Florida, but are you saying that Cal wasn't a big game? I think it was. Not as big as Florida, but Cal is still a tough team to open with. I know how bad he was last year, but I really see something different in him this year when I've watched him. I think he'll probably stay in too, but there is a chance he comes out cause he is a junior.

Nobody figured Chad Jackson would go undrafted, but we all thought he'd be a 1st round pick. He wasn't and I think that the Florida issue cost him some there. I know he was in your 1st round mock.
