AM1000 is reporting something moving Wallace to the Cavs got done!

    Don't have the exact details.

Also, Tech_N9ne on RGM (reputable guy who's posted accurate insider info in the past) says a deal got done. He also suggested Wallace to the Cavs was discussed a month or two ago

Wallace will probably look much better there, due to playing next to a big, strong, tall guy, and playing next to Lebron.

People might complain later that the Bulls "let him get away", but boy did he ever suck here. You won't hear me say that.

Beyond that, the Bulls getting themselves into this predicament in the first place is certainly not to be forgotten. Even by getting out of it, kind of, we've wasted time and precious opportunities.

If that's the case, I'm pretty happy. I like getting Gooden back. Couple him up with Tyrus and Noah and we're in very good shape. Makes it more important to get rid of Noc in the long run, but OK.

    KC Johnson:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>A little more than one and a half seasons after Bulls general manager John Paxson and then-coach Scott Skiles made a splash by signing Wallace away from the Detroit Pistons for $60 million over four years, the center was traded along with Joe Smith to Cleveland for Larry Hughes and Drew Gooden.

Wallace was expected to be among the final pieces to push the Bulls over the top and back into real contention for an NBA title for the first time since the dynasty of Jordan and Pippen were broken up. The Bulls did advance past the first round of the playoffs in Wallace's first year, sweeping Miami. They were knocked out by Detroit in the second round, 4 games to 2.

Wallace sometimes chafed under Skiles' coaching. In November 2006, his first season with the Bulls, Wallace famously wore his then-verboten head band in a game against the Knicks in New York, a clear act of defiance. The coaching staff relaxed that rule entering this year.

Wallace averaged 6.4 points and 10.7 rebounds a game in his first season in Chicago. Both of those averages dropped -- 5.1 and 8.8, respectively -- this season.

Cleveland, the defending Eastern Conference champions, add Wallace to give LeBron James fire power in a weakened East. The Cavs currently have the fifth seed. The Bulls sit 10th, two spots out.</div>

David Aldridge says: <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>As the Akron Beacon-Journal first hinted at this a.m., and that the Four-Letter advanced, the Cavs, Bulls and Sonics have pulled the trigger on that big ol' three-way:

Larry Hughes and Drew Gooden to Chicago,

Ben Wallace and Joe Smith to Cleveland.

The Cavs' Ira Newble, Donyell Marshall and Adrian Griffin to Seattle for Wally Szczerbiak and Delonte West.</div>

Looks like it'll be a while before we know the actual deal

    1. Turn two old guys up front into one younger guy up front (Wallace and Smith -> Gooden).

    2. A backup plan if/when Gordon is moved or leaves (Hughes)

    3. Salary neutral

    4. Wallace no longer a Bull.

    WOW! Just WOW!

Kudos to Pax. Maybe we can score 100 points in a game without it going to overtime now.

Props to Paxson for not trading Gordon, Deng, or Hinrich.

This is a great trade. I'll miss Duhon and Smith, but this doesn't piss me off at all.

Hopefully Nocioni gets traded by the end of the day as well.

Ben Wallace to Cavs in 10-player deal
    Thursday, February 21, 2008 03:40 PM

BRISTOL, Connecticut (Ticker) -- The Cleveland Cavaliers acquired center Ben Wallace from the Chicago Bulls as part of a three-team, 10-player deal, according to an ESPN report on Thursday afternoon.

The report said Wallace would go to the Cavaliers along with guard Wally Szczerbiak, forward Joe Smith and guard Delonte West in a deal which was completed right before the league's 3 p.m. EST trade deadline.

According to ESPN, the Bulls would receive guard Larry Hughes, forward Drew Gooden and forward Cedric Simmons while the Seattle SuperSonics would get guard Chris Duhon and forwards Ira Newble and Donyell Marshall.
