So that's how you embed a video on here. I couldn't figure that out.

WHAT UP FELLAS!!! Long time no hear (kinda miss the long arguments we had).........But I must say getting Artest for virtually nothing is a huge STEAL. This is similar to the Bonzi thing accept Artest is better. For those of you saying "Artest is too crazy" that's a bunch of crap. Everybody knows the Rockets need somebody who has an attitude. Maybe a little craziness will push this team of "nice guys" to the next level. Morey is a beast for this one!

Good thread, its clear to me that Ron still doesn't understand the impact of some of his past actions. The key word there is "past" so as long as he doesn't do that crap anymore it won't matter. I'm not just talking about the brawl either, no more requesting time off to work on rap albums or things like that.

I think that the Rockets will be an amazing team this year and hopefully they can make it out of the first round.

Yeah I thought what he said was inappropriate.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The potential trade of Ron Artest to the Houston Rockets may have gotten off on the wrong foot over comments made by Artest's potential teammate, Yao Ming, about Artest's stormy past.

A day after the Rockets and Sacramento Kings agreed in principle to a deal sending Artest to Houston for Bobby Jackson, Donte Greene and a first-round draft pick, Yao expressed concerns about team chemistry to the Houston Chronicle and referenced Artest's involvement in the 2004 brawl with Pistons fans.

"Hopefully, he's not fighting anymore and going after a guy in the stands," Yao said, according to the Chronicle.

When asked about those comments, Artest said Yao had bought into "all the propaganda" about him, according to The Sacramento Bee.

"I understand what Yao said, but I'm still ghetto," Artest said, according to the report. "That's not going to change. I'm never going to change my culture. Yao has played with a lot of black players, but I don't think he's ever played with a black player that really represents his culture as much as I represent my culture. Once Yao Ming gets to know me, he'll understand what I'm about.

"If you go back to the brawl, that's a culture issue right there," Artest added, according to the report. "Somebody was disrespecting me, so he's got to understand where I'm coming from. People that know me know that Ron Artest never changed."

The agreed-to deal sending Artest to Houston cannot become official until Aug. 14. And Artest, who has one year remaining on his contract, also said he was looking for a long-term deal from the Rockets, according to the report.</div>

    Good post huevonkiller.

Interesting that Ron Artest would even bring up race here, nonsense. Now he's claiming that he represents all black people and its part our culture to brawl, lol. I don't want to turn this thread into a race thing, but Ron was out of line there. The child tries to rationalize everything he does.

    Welcome back.

Artest is Bonzi with scoring/defense minus the baggage.

I think it was great that Ron called Yao and Tracy to talk things over like they all should've had done in the beginning, but I initially thought Ron's comments in response to Yao were a little hasty, immature, and unnecessary like Huevon and Jurassic said. In my opinion, his problems in the past are a legitamite concern, and he needs to understand that although HE put it behind him, his actions will always haunt his career and teams will always be wary. What he needs to do rather than be a little hasty in his words, is just tell people, give me this chance and I'll go prove myself this year that this isn't a mistake and that I have changed.

    That's just me though.

lol, if he really hasn't changed. I`m sure a maniacal fan of an opposing team in the playoffs might `disrespect` Artest again, lol maybe splash some water on him.
