Thanks man. Love seeing that Cubs banner in your sig. I'm a native Portlander with Cubbie blue pumping through my veins. Most of my family is from Chicago, and I spent many a summer day under the sun at Wrigley as a kid.

Awesome! We have Cubs and Bears forums here, too. I probably went to 40 home games a season growing up in Chicago. After the 7th inning, they'd let you in free if the score wasn't too close. My school was so close to the ballpark, we could hear the organ music.

100 years is long enough, time for the curse to end!

SP, great to see you! Hopefully we can disagree just as vigorously on the OT board here as we did at BBF.com!

One question, however regarding your status as a Cubs' fan: Left Field or Right Field?

    Good question maxiep

I always sat in the right field bleachers, hoping to get a homer by Billy Williams or Rick Monday or any of the other power hitting lefties they had at the time. I never had trouble getting balls in general, probably scored 50 in all. Some during batting practice, some during games, some the players threw to me - they got to the point they recognized me. I used to hang outside where they came out after dressing after the games and get their autographs.

Bleacher tickets cost $1 in those days, and general admission grandstand $2.50. All those grandstand seats had a pillar/post that obstructed some part of your view. $3.50 got you reserved grandstand which had no obstructions. I don't even know what tickets cost these days, but I suspect a day at the ballpark is $100 with parking and concessions.

That's the correct answer. Now chant with me: Left Field sucks! Left Field sucks! Left Field sucks!

I spent some time attending grad school and working in Chi-town and much of it was spent at Clark & Addison.

I spent undergrad outside of Chicago, but I spent more time watching the Sox than the Cubs... primarily because I had a friend who had a friend who could get us free tickets. Free tickets were worth a longer El ride and a scary couple of blocks to New Comiskey...

Upon receiving invitation, I think I'll start poking my head in here.

I'll probably end up running the Predictions game both here and on BBB.

Look forward to being part of this community.

Just to let you know, we have some other parts to this site besides the message board software, so if you need a page to host standings and such, we could easily get something together for/with you.

Ya, know, if I had more time, I could run the predictions game for every team and run cumulative stats as well as team stats. When I wrote the program for doing the predictions game a few years ago (after several years of doing it on spreadsheets), I wrote it so that I could do it for any team. That would be interesting but EXTREMELY time consuming.

Unless someone wants to provide me a guaranteed gig using my business intelligence/data analytics skills, I have to keep doing what I'm doing (by which, I have my own company that provides those services to other companies - problem is, I spend a lot of time prospecting for more business).
