Pick your top 15 all-time Blazers and present your roster/depth chart in this thread, and discuss. C: Bill Walton, Arvydas Sabonis, Mychal Thompson, Oden PF: Maruice Lucas, Sheed, Sidney Wicks, LMA SF: Calvin Natt, Kiki Vanderweigh SG: Clyde Drexler, Jim Paxson, Geoff Petrie PG: Terry Porter, Lionel Hollins
1: Terry Porter, Scottie Pippen, Rod Strickland 2: Clyde Drexler, Brandon Roy 3: Jerome Kersey, Cliff Robinson, Drazen Petrovic, Rueben Patterson 4: Maurice Lucas, Buck Williams, LaMarcus Aldridge 5: Greg Oden, Bill Walton, Ardydas Sabonis Yeah, I know we haven't seen Oden play but this is my team dammit. Left Sheed out because of his Techs and attitude.
C: Arvydas Sabonis, Bill Walton, Oden PF: Maruice Lucas, Buck Williams, LMA SF: Scottie Pippen, Calvin Natt, Kiki Vanderweigh SG: Clyde Drexler, Geoff Petrie, Jim Paxson PG: Terry Porter, Lionel Hollins; Fat Lever
My list is based on my favorite players, not "best" players. PG - T.Porter, R.Strickland SG - B.Roy, C.Drexler SF - S.Pippen, J.Kersey, C.Robinson, R.Patterson, S.Augmon PF - B.Williams, L.Aldridge, B.Grant C - A.Sabonis, G.Oden, K.Duckworth
Here is my rotation. And I am evaluating the players by what they did with the Blazers, not who was the best player (i.e., broken down Sabas instead of high-flying pre-injury Euro Sabas). I also took into account how the player fit in with the team, which took away consideration from some of the maggotry (JR Rider, Bonzi Wells, etc.). Black Unit PG: Terry Porter SG: Clyde Drexler SF: Jerome Kersey PF: Rasheed Wallace C: Bill Walton Coach: Rick Adelman White Unit PG: Rod Strickland SG: Geoff Petrie SF: Calvin Natt PF: Mo Lucas C: Greg Oden (yes, I believe he'll be that good) Coach: Jack Ramsay Red Unit PG: Damon Stoudamire SG: Brandon Roy SF: Scottie Pippen PF: Buck Williams C: Kevin Duckworth (not as good as Sabas, but better as a Blazer) Coach: McMillan
A 15-man depth chart: Point Guard: Terry Porter / Rod Strickland / Lionel Hollins Shooting Guard: Clyde Drexler / Brandon Roy / Steve Smith Small Forward: Scottie Pippen / Cliff Robinson / Kiki Vandeweghe Power Forward: Rasheed Wallace / Maurice Lucas / LaMarcus Aldridge Center: Bill Walton / Greg Oden / Arvydas Sabonis If only Pippen could be in his prime, this would be amazing. I'd love to see a prime Pippen and Drexler play together.
This is a tough one. I hope I haven't forgot anyone. PG: T.Porter, L.Hollins SG: C.Drexler, B.Roy, Drazen Petrovic, Geoff Petrie SF: J.Kersey, Kiki Vanderweigh, Calvin Natt PF: M.Lucas, LMA, B.Williams C: B.Walton, Arvydas Sabonis, G.Oden I only selected 15 players but my next all-time Blazer would be Paxson.
PG: Terry Porter, Rod Strickland SG: Clyde Drexler, Brandon Roy, Geoff Petrie SF: Scottie Pippen, Jerome Kersey, Jim Paxson PF: Mo Lucas, Rasheed Wallace, Cliff Robinson C: Bill Walton, Greg Oden, Arvydas Sabonis So that's my 14 man roster. I'd save a spot to sign Shavlik Randolph.
C: Bill Walton, Arvydas Sabonis, Duck , Oden PF: Maruice Lucas, Buck, Mychal Thompson, LMA SF: Calvin Natt, Pippen SG: Clyde Drexler, Brandon Roy, Geoff Petrie PG: Terry Porter, Lionel Hollins
if we're talking peak performance irrelevant of playing period.... C - Sabas, Walton, Oden PF - Lucas, Sheed, Buck SF - Pippen, Kersey, Uncle Cliff SG - Clyde, Roy, Steve Smith PG - Porter, Strickland, Stoudamire 3 starting 5s porter/clyde/kersey/lucas/walton strickland/smith/cliff/buck/sabas damon/roy/pipen/sheed/oden
Dang, how can so many people put the Nanny raper on their team? Not this his offcourt life matters for this list, but I would easily put Bonzi Wells ahead of him, probably even DA.
