I don't think there's an official 2K9 thread, so here it is. Just based off the demo and gameplay videos, the game looks awesome. I'm definitely picking it up tomorrow after school. Unfortunately, I won't have the car, which means public transportation. Anyway, I'll post my reactions later. Do the same!
Can you let me know all the special features outside of the actual game? That's what I'm really interested in.
These games are coming out tomorrow. I'd like to get one, but I didn't like 2K8 and Live had been bad for a while now. Are either of these a big improvement over last year? I haven't even played the demos.
i heard thart you going to be able to make created players 7'10"....benjamin ross best pg ever. i already pre-ordered it, and am going to play the whole season. at once.
I kept trying to run the plays in 2K8 and it felt so unnatural and was a lot of work. It was just a chore for me. I didn't have much fun playing. What can I do to have a more enjoyable experience if I get 2K9? And is Live a legit option?
Ghoti, as you're someone who has a high appreciation of the game of basketball, and are an analytical person in that regard...you will hate Live. 2k actually does make it easier to play "sim." Last year's "run the play" was too tough because the momentum of a player made it hard to line up exactly on the marker. While I don't have the game and can't say if this was fixed, I do know that the AI was revamped so that teammates will run basketball plays based on where you line up automatically. So, instead of seeing people stand around, you'll see players come off screens, set picks, etc.
That's what I want! Those stupid drawings on the floor didn't work and the players wouldn't start running the play until I stopped on the exact pixel. It sucked all the fun out. So the demo fixed this and I can just play naturally?
Try the demo, but 2K Sports has really been advertising their new A.I. Also, here's a great video that breaks down court spacing, and how players defend a pick and roll depending on who's running it. Oh yeah, and the game has Bird Rights as part of contract and FA signings (!)
My router is messed up so I haven't been able to dl the demo. That's why I'm soliciting opinions. I mainly want it to be more natural and have less drudgery.
I'll let you know when I get it. Also check out reviews when they are available. Don't bother with Live 09; no way will it top 2k9.
Joker, what's your PSN? I'll play you when I get it. Here's a review from IGN. It got an 8.5 http://ps3.ign.com/articles/916/916742p1.html
