Nice offensive hustle by Deng...Rose with the slash 66 - 64 Bulls. The Bulls need to take it...the momentum is like "take me, Chicago!"
Hopefully Gordon can come in firing and get us a big lead when he comes in. It's amazing how much Derrick Rose's athleticism has changed this team. Our "old core" all lack athleticism. Rose has it, and it really helps him finish a lot.
BG with a nice pull up jumper to give us 71 - 70 lead *Aaron Gray draws the foul on a nice interior attempt.
BG with the buzzer beater runner to give us the 5 point 75 - 70 lead. It was created by momentum shifting interior D that forced the Memphis turnover.
Ben Gordon is our best defender at the guard spot. It's interesting that Del Negro is playing Gordon at the point guard over Hinrich. The ball moved better when Gordon is point guard, so I suspect that's why he's doing it.
Kirk nails another 3 to regain us that 5 point lead. Darko scores immediately to cut lead down to 3 points 81 - 78 Bulls lead.
They should have set Gordon up for a three on that one. He noticed that Tyrus wasn't going to pass it to them there, so he began cutting in...at which point, Thomas threw the lob to Gordon...which sailed out of bounds.
24 sec shot clock violation against the Bulls...The Bulls return the favor...score still the same with 7:27 secs left... Gordon draws the foul and going to the line.
Noc with the hard foul on Darko to make sure he doesn't get the easy interior...Much better defensive effort by the Bulls. Gordon with the nice pass to Rose for the DUNK...85 - 80 Bulls lead. Rose to Gooden for a wide open look from the side and scores..Bulls 87 - 80...hitting opened shots like that is what maximizes Rose's potential.
Gordon is doing a big thing different offensively this year. When he drives in trying to draw the foul, he goes into the foul with his body instead of with his arms. When he went in with his arms, the opponents would usually just hack at his arms or even hit the ball and block it, usually with a no call. Derrick Rose is amazing scoring wise.
Rose is doing very well scoring wise for a PG who isn't considered "good" at scoring. I can't believe they wiped that basket. *We got the flagrant foul and Rose hits both free throws and the Bulls go up by 10...90 - 80
That is the Luol Deng I know...he got to the basket...that's what his body is made for. *Bulls up by 8 points: 92 - 84
Hopefully we get Gordon in for Hinrich here. Hinrich is stagnating the offense. No excuses for a loss here.
Noc going to the line after a hard foul from Warrick...Noc can put the icing on the cake. and does Bulls up by 8 points 94 - 86 with about 30 secs left... Rose with 26 points Hinrich with 18 points Deng and Gordon 11 points Noc and Thabo with 8 points Gooden with 7 points BUT 20 rebs. Gooden to the line and hits both freethrows...Bulls up 96 - 86 with 24 secs left..we pulled this off Hinrich dribbles clock and final score 96 - 86
I'm not watching the game, but damn at the box scores. DERRICK ROSE!!! Even Thabo looks like he has played decent. What's up with Tyrus? He's blocked alot of shots but hasn't scored. When is Deng going to show us he is worth the money and commitment we made to him? What I like is the fact that the Bulls came out at the half and came to play judging from the 3rd qtr performance. For any of you guys watching it, did Vinny make good adjustments? I'm interested to see Vinny develop into a good coach.
Game overview The Bulls have improved from last nights loss and learned a bit from their mistakes in Boston. We still have struggles taking advantage of leads because of our shot selection, but overall our shot selection was much better with finding the opened guy and being more aggressive and trying to get to the rim. The Defense was MUCH more energized and suffocating compared to last night's game in Boston. More offensive and defensive hustle and more HELP DEFENSE. The Bulls need major work on scoring still, but the defense is getting back to a competitive level... Overall performance - C -
