VC averages nearly 22/5/5. Who else does that? Just elite players. He should have been an all-star. Nelson, Lewis, and Pierce making it over him is bullshit.
Pierce's numbers are identical to VC's, except he shares the ball with 2 other AS caliber players and is on the team with the best record in the league.
Um i don't? But if you look at his production, it's been very inconsistent. Sometimes he shows up and sometimes it's like he isn't even there. Iguodala however has been the backbone of the sixers especially after Brand went out.
I kind of made up stuff for Nash and Melo... (doi, obviously) But regarding Pierce and/or Rashard being picked over Iguodala and VC, i think my comments are logical. All Rashard does is knock down open 3's most of the time. For me, the All star game's players should be picked with 3 things to consider: 1. good team record (Philly are 23-22, above .500) 2. players picked must have flare (that's why i never agreed with duncan starting LOL, but that's just me) 3. dont put in multiple players from 1 team simply coz' they are from one of the top teams (Dwight, Nelson and Rashard; the 1st 2 absolutely deserved it, but Rashard is kind of like this year's Ray Allen, boston last year, who really sucked during the regular season)
I'm surprised David Lee hasn't been at least in the discussion. He played a majority of the season at center where he is averaging nearly 16/12 and leading the league in double-doubles (yes, over Dwight Howard). His FG% should be up there, too, probably top 5 in that category.
Have you ever seen a power forward not dominate in Sloan's system? The only thing easier than playing the four in Utah is playing the four next to Chris Paul. I can understand the whole team records thing too, but Durant has had as good a season as anyone. Shaq and West over Jefferson doesn't even deserve a response.
Of course the power forward dominates under Sloan. You see, Sloan has coached for extended periods of time these two talented power forwards by the names of Carlos Boozer and Karl Malone. Being the Olympians and All-Stars they are they'd tend to dominate in just about any system, not just Utah. While Millsap isn't at their level, the way he's been playing since starting deserves a mention in this thread.
