i just had a son on december 6th! been a little hectic.

hey yall, we are ready to start nailing this down. i need a little help with this early part though, so lets get some ideas in this thread we can riff off of to get our rulebook in place and get this draft started.

thanks for the help 3....2.....1.....GO!

rule #1. once we get going, activity is a must

As for the rules...that's a fantastic question. I'll get back to you on that one, lol.

ok as far as rules/ideas go, lets see....

we will try and use real life injuries. player out irl, player out in sim.

we will most likely have a hard cap of some kind, as using fake money, we need incentive to not sign all your role players to max deals because you hold their bird rights. (eh? brainstorm away)

denny wants to do draft rules of 6 hours per pick, or 12 hours overnight. like i said in another thread, we can also text our picks or make a call to select people in the league, mods maybe.

i think we should have mods of this league in particular, maybe new mods? (eh?)

should we have a trade committee to oversee trades? we want to give as much freedom as possible without kobe getting traded 5 times a year, ya know? something to think about.

A 6/12hr draft will take at least a month or two. Is there no way we can do live drafts of 10-15 picks at a time?

i mentioned the same thing, but if we are all on the site though it will go much quicker. i can make a pick and the next guy can make one 1 minute later and so on.
 
Just a salary cap? There needs to be some way to go over it, like if you have 8 players hurt and you need to fill a roster spot.

yeah there should be a way to go over it.

let's just get a random draft order and start the draft.

for now assume that we'll be using the nba cap, current nba salaries, and that their ratings will be based off their actual play.
 
S2 official salaries, I would hope.

DW, if you want to organize the draft, go for it!
 
Okay, I'm gonna be in Vegas (wink wink to Denny?) from Sunday night til Thursday morning, so after Christmas, I'll get the draft started, and I'll use my old GM draft rules. In that timespan, other people can figure out the rules.

Fair enough?

Sounds good here I have a random number generator for draft order or you can just hook it up let me know.
 
Probably need to get a mailing list or something going to remind everyone that this still exists.

Okay sorry about the delays guys, been hectic with family over here cause of the holidays.

I have a game to coach later tonight after that I will start working on the rules and post them up before Monday morning (like...before 10AM type morning, cause I'll probably post it at like 2AM :P)

Since PapaG is banned, we need a user to replace him. Can someone else please try to find a user to replace PapaG.

I would do it right now or later today, but its 6AM Pacific, and I haven't slept....and I'm going to Disneyland today...in 3hrs....

so do you guys have a nba simulator or are you using 2k10 or nba live 10? just wondering because it will determine how I pick.
