I read an article this morning that broke NBA history up into decades and named a dynasty for each one except the 1970's. According to the article the Lakers have ruled three different decades, the 1950's, 1980's, and 2000's. With the Lakers winning the first title of the 2010's they have the upper hand on becoming the dynasty of this decade as well. However, with the Heat assembling an All-Star trio of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh Miami is positioning themselves to possibly compete for multiple NBA Championships during this decade too. Considering that it is doubtful that Kobe will play the entire decade and that the Lakers will have to retool before the 2010's are over who do you think has the best chance of winning multiple titles and establishing themselves as the dynasty of the 2010's? I voted for the 28 other teams specifically the OKC Thunder. I'm hoping the Lakers can win 2 or 3 more rings with this group and then start rebuilding post-Kobe era. The Blazers will be viable if they ever get healthy. I want to see what Miami does to round out their roster.
I voted the other 28. The Thunder are only going to get better, and we haven't seen the Heat play a game yet, so I'll reserve my opinion on them for when I see them on the court. I'd also like to think the Lakers can land a couple more between now and when Kobe retires.
The Heat are pretty much done with their roster and they are missing two key elements. 1. Size 2. 3 Point Shooting I imagine a lot of teams will zone the Heat up and clog the lane to prevent Wade & LeBron from getting into the paint. It will be interesting to see how effective Wade & LeBron are at catching and shooting the basketball.
Hollinger predicts a recreation of last season, with 5% less usage for each person in the trio. That means about 93% of what they did last year, adjusted for minutes (per 36 let's say). That would be like 29 PER for LeBron, 26 PER for Wade, 23 for Bosh.
Celtics or Lakers everyone else comes short. But really though Miami will be right up there, I wouldn't be surprised if they win it their first year, second year I'm 100% sure they will.
^ He's just trying to get attention away from Miami haha. But seriously only 3 teams will be contending for the championship. LA, Beantown and mWo. (fuck orlando)
Next two years Lakers and Celtics will be there but after that it might be Miami Heat's game if some big moves don't happen in Oklahoma or NY. New York could sign Paul in 2011 and get some other great players around them as they have cap space. So it's really up to other teams' signings
