New England Sports Ventures have a bid in to remove the current American owners of Liverpool. NESV would also have to pay off the club debts by October 15. Despite this offer, it apparently will take legal action to remove Gillet and Hicks. From the article:
More on this from ESPN Soccernet: MLS Chief Don Garber likes it Liverpool board forces the move, takes legal action against Hicks/Gillet Chairman Broughton expects sale to be complete in a week More on John Henry, chief of NESV And this one from the Boston Globe website: 8 things you should know about Liverpool - Its beneath the football fans among us, but its a nice touch for the Sox fans to share some history and draw some comparisons. As a Sox/Spurs fan, I'm interested by this move. The Prem is a bottomless pit of debt, so I don't like the Sox ownership buying into it. On the other hand, this guy made money and brought success to the Florida Marlins, so if anyone can make money in the Prem, its probably John Henry. I guess I'll have to be more interested in Liverpool now as it will impact the Red Sox.
